Can anyone tell me if putting a drop of WD-40 or some other light oil on the main shaft or grips would be alright to help lube the collective. I have a Blade CP that is a bit sticky and I'm not really wanting to take the head apart just to free it up some. Thanks for any advise. Yellacopter

yellacopter,

I use Remington "Rem' Oil". You can find it in the gun department of your local Wal-Mart.

I don't know anything about the Blade CP but you might want to check all the ball links for freedom of movement. JR and others make a ball link sizing tool that can help if you have tight ball links. I don't know if that tool is the proper size to work on your Blade CP machine.

Just something you might want to consider.

Thanks for the advise. I do have some gun oil for my air gun. I'll give that a try and see if it helps. So far I'm just hovering in the house in a rather small area. It wouldn't be a problem if I was outside with fewer things to run in to but when it jumps a couple of feet without notice, I run the risk of smacking into a wall or something. Thanks again and keep 'em flying. Yellacopter

If oil doesn't solve your problem and you have an older Blade, try reversing your blade grips washers. If the larger washer is next to the bearing it tends to ride on the outer race of the bearing which doesn't move and can cause binding. Place the small washer next to the bearing so that it will ride on the inner race and then place the larger washer and then the screw.

I have a two week old Blade CP. I haven't looked that close at the blade washers so I'll give that a try next. Thanks very much.
