approx release date

I am in a market for a larger electric and would like to know whether this heli is planned for 2008 still or if we are talking 2009.

A little bit of marketing is ok, but all this stuf is a shame!!

diegoaw, the delay until the end of October has NOTHING to do with a marketing ploy to increase the "hype" of the 550 ...infact we KNOW we are going to lose a few customers by having to push the release date out until the end of November...If we could release it today we would be all happy...

But...we have one last issue to take care of on the heli and it will be released...as some of you have seen at events we have been having the main gear strip every once in a while and we want to get the gear right BEFORE releasing the 550 as we do not want the customer to be our Beta tester as some other companies do by rushing a product to the market...we (Outrage RC) would rather loose a few sales by delaying the release than giving our customers an "iffy" main gear. We have decided to release the heli with a CNC Machined main Delrin Gear to ensure it won't strip...but getting those made up will take a little while...after we get the "molded" material to our specs and it is strong enough we will offer the "molded" gear as a low cost alternative to the higher cost Machined Delrin Gear.

All parts except the main gear have been machined and waiting to be boxed up and shipped as kits and spare parts...

Outrage RC apologizes for the delay in the release date...but in the long run we are looking out for our customers rather than our pocket books by releasing the Outrage 550 with a main gear issue issue...

We will keep everyone informed about the release date...and if there is anyway we can release earlier...we will...I hope you all can understand our position on this delay...it will be worth the wait...I can assure you that!

sounds good to me :).. Better to wait while and have the kinks worked out then getting it early and having problems. Being a current Hurricane 550 owner I can understand stressing having the gear strong enough to handle the power system .

For anyone who has been in the hobby they must know that release dates are always an estimate and they arn't released until you can buy them in stores. I don't think having to wait a month for a new kit is going to kill you, just be patient and you will be rewarded.

Thanks for the update Greg. Good things come to those that wait. This doesn't bother me one bit; I won't settle for second best and I know you and Charley won't either.

The anticipation is part of the fun! Nothing makes me feel like a kid on Christmas morning other than getting a new heli. The older you get the harder it is to get that feeling, so diegoaw, don't waste it with a bad attitude.

ahh true i did forget about the static when it first came out. Haven't experienced it myself , yet, and I'm sure if I do there be a fair bout of swearing lol, but I do think it was half on align and half on spektrum or maybe 2/3 align 1/3 spectrum just for the resaon that the original reciever had like a 6 second restart time in comparison to the quick-connect now.


Anyways I'm currently pondering over the folowing choices . Either keeping my hurricane 550 ( rotorworks frame ), Outrage 550 or Logo 500 All depending on which option shows to be the most reliable and cheapest ;p

diegoaw, I certainly hope it will be release by then...right now it looks good...but as Capi (HFG) mentioned above...release dates are always written in pencil so they can be erased and new dates penciled back in if needed...

how are you going to do for spares?
I am really wondering. Unless somebody here in Switzerland has them on stock, I am not going to bother and will buy a trex 600ESP. Pity....:o
I will not wait for 1-2weeks shipping for spares OR build a huge stock..

outrage should definitely come up with a helical gear upgrade later. There is nothing like hearing the pure sound of blades ripping through the air at full pitch and max HS:WOW
