I just did a search for some photos and found these, they are from the Wren France demo pilot... hope he doesn't mind?

The MW44 looks REALLY cute  and fits really nice in there :clappp

Sara, put me on the list too. I'll get one in a couple of years.

Are there any more details on the install, etc. Was this a standard transmission or a special?

Does anyone know the release date in the states for the MW44. I've been dieing to build one of these.

OH if we only really knew when that 44 is coming out. Then I'll have to push Chris for that 44 Magnum he is teasing us with. I heard it's going to be a long hard snowy winter in
MI so he should have plenty of time after he designs the flybarless head for the Intrepid line.

If that conversion kit was available now, I'd be on the phone with credit card in hand to ReadyHeli for the 700 and Wren for the engine...

from what i understand it doesnt take much to do the conversion. just cut the fan shroud to fit the turbine through it, the gear box has the same mountings as a 90 size engine so ataches no problems and is all you neeed to do is make a small bracket to support the turbine. depending on what flight time you want you may need to add an extra fuel tank but the 44 uses a less fuel than the 54 so you should get a good flight time out of the 700 standard tank...maybe just add a header tank?

Judging from the photos, the mounting doesn't look complicated at all. Seems to fit between the stock frame... so a lower plate (I'm guessing) is all that would need to be manufactured.

I'm not sure, but I don't think the 2nd stage (gear box and turbine) is available yet for mass consumption. But I could be wrong on this. I only saw the MW44 listed at Wren. But it IS a REALLY sweet looking machine.

I remember seeing the conversion design photos somewhere, it is very elegant in it's construction.

Hey All,

Everyone knows I am chomping at the bit to get one of these working in the UK.
I've done my bit with the Predator in the early days, having taken over the very first WREN/Century conversion many years ago and now I am eager to do the same with this conversion and wring out any bugs.
Practically as soon as a MW44 & gearbox become available to me I shall be looking into getting one of these up & running asap.

As you've all seen & heard, the conversion does not seem too complicated at all with minimal parts needed only some form of brace for the front of the Turbine.
I have got Robbe SchluterUK interested in the idea, I just need a powerplant now to take the next step.

I'll volunteer to be the 1st guy in the US to do the '44 conversion. I've got my Master Card at the ready! :)

If only I knew .... My Crystal Ball is cloudy, I see swirling figures looking at some parts on a workbench ... they are 44 heli gearbox parts ... do they have all the parts? ... they're putting the parts together ... do they fit correctly? .... Sorry guys, that last bit isn't clear yet.

We know what we want to happen and it sounds simple: all the parts to arrive, and to fit together as expected. Some of the parts are here now but one of the most important ones won't be ready for another month or so. When we've got everything, then it should be just a case of putting it together. So I should be able to give a date - but I can't, because we know that everyone involved is human and if there are any problems then that date won't be met.

What I can assure you is that we are all working hard to ensure these engines are ready as quickly as possible. I can see those credit cards glinting, I'd love nothing more than to be able to sell the engines but everything has to be right before we can sell them!

Sara,

Appreciate the update. While I am anxious to get an engine, I certainly want the same quality that I've become accustomed to. I know you to want only quality engines in the marketplace and I know how difficult it can be to get a product to market.

I guess we'll have to accept that British expression "in due course":)

Just as long as it's at least a month before the IRCHA Jamboree in '09. :)

Sara, How is your crystal ball, has it become any less cloudy ?

Sara

Not really. More parts are scheduled to arrive from the machine shop within the next couple of days, but I can't see the future clearly yet ...

Hey Sara,

I've got some Pledge on standby to polish up that crystal ball if it will help in anyway? ;-)

Looks like the seed is set and the anticipation of MW44 equipped heli's is as high as expected.
