I have a BC6 and love it. My dad is getting into electric planes and has a power supply but needs a decent balancer (3 cell lipos). I thought the 301DX was the same as the bc6 without the power supply but ive learned it does not have a built in balancer.
Suggestions for a balancer without a power supply?
what is a balancer without a power supply ?
maybe you meant a charger+balancer that connects to the mains outlet ?

You can buy the 301DX and a PB-6 balancer, but for not much more you might as well get the BC-6.

Answered my own question, getting a BC5.
