I have recently had a problem with an Esky 0404G, 2.4G 4ch Tx.(for the HB FP)
The Tx appears to have lost its GUID, and apparently this can happen by switching on the Tx and off again before the Tx has finished booting up, ie before the signal light has gone solid. I won't go into how this might have happened, thats not the point of this query.
The Tx is now working, to do this the Tx has had to duplicate the code of another Esky Tx (so is not now unique) by poering on next to eachother.
GUID codes are factory set, so it seems strange that they are not totally locked down.

On researching this problem I found some very good discussions between a couple of people on here about the technicalities of 2.4G, and they went into fairly detailed technical detail about the binding process. Unfortunately I cant find them again (think they were from around late 2007),
Anyway, is this only a problem on the Esky stuf or would it be possible to happen on a Futaba or Spektrum Tx ?
If so, being a programmable device, would you be able to reset the GUID code if it were lost ?
Thanks for any help/info
Cheers
John

The only thing that had a problem with the GUIDs was Futaba and only a few specific systems.
