Have you heard anything on time frame?
I flew the Evo's again today but this time on My Xero G 600EP and they Rock on 50 size heli's , I compared them to my TP's 10s2p 4200 they have better punchout, h/s feels more constant and less bog , I'm not a Bobby and I felt the difference.
Where are the adaptors?
I hope the new TP 4900's will be as powerful as these Duralites.

Thanks Will iam working onsomething as well even more SNAP!!
Mike you should run the 55 or 54 secondary wiht the stock hacker setup also i would run 690 blades
The Evo packs are HOT FOR SURE :noteworthy

i would run 690 blades
I was thinking that myself. The Radix blades are pretty slick, but that is a lot of blade for an Ion-X, especially with the stock Hacker.

I have just received 4 5s1pEVO3700 mah packs. I have made up a 10s2p7400mah pack out of 4 individual packs.
The increase in power over the EVO5000mah and 6600mah packs is significant. I have only done a break in period as yet, last test was 8 min hover with 690 radix blades. Batt temps only 27 degrees C.
Adavatages of using individual 5s1p packs
You balance each individual LiPo cell, not a 2 or 3s parallel bank.
I can separate the packs to make a 10s1p 3700mah pack for 5 min flights with sig weight saving.
I have noted some very interesting charging of the 4 packs, initially there was a sig difference in the amount of charge which went into each 5s1p pack, after my break-in period and ability to balance eack cell, input current with each charge is within 10mah across the 4 packs.

hey , dont know about the evos yet , got 10s , but havnt tried them yet , but I can also tell you this , I tried 2 10s2p 4200s ran in parallel as 8400s , thats 202 peak ampers on there , comepared to the 2 5s4p 8000 prolites , well the voltage doent sag hardly none with the 32-3 , Scott Glasgow sure rang the snot out of it for 5 mine or a tad more , and I couldnt believe it only took back 3200 ma , he he , great power for 9 to 10 min straight ,

Why carry around the extra weight when you get no more time? Wait till you see teh 10 pound Ion's ROCKING Tony. You coming to Chatti?

Hi All,
I'm thinking of getting some new packs but these 5s1p 3700 packs look great but it just the flight time is alot shorter than say 5s3p or 5s4p seems alot of money for a 5 min flight then waiting for them to charge ?
I suppose I could try some FP 5s2p's ?
Simon.

Nothing can touch the performance of teh 10s 1p setup EVO 3700 setup best performance to date
I talked to a local guy who is flying same setup as mine he is gettin 8 to 9 minutes basic sport flying out of those packs. The thing is the Evo packs keep producing power until they drop off
Tony you are going backwards here there is no way that thinig will fly for 9 to 10 minutes hard core 3d after 5 to 6 minutes it will loss its snap from carrying the extra weight. I was flying 15c Tanic 8880s a year ago and they work great for mild 3d and sport flying but for that qucik snap and changing direction maneuvers it jUSt didnt have it
Will will show you @ chatti if i could be there i would show you how quick my Ions are as well maybe you will go to MHA next week
Charlie has some new 1 p stuff coming cant wait to see how they perform

Figured i would let you guys know i have been flying some 170 Gram 690 Vblades and the performance is really nice iam getting same runtimes as my Rotortech setup but wiht alot more snap!!! And my Autos are insane first time i have ever seen light blades auto this well
Call Vblades direct and tell them you want Ion blades something in the 175 to 170 gram weight and they should be able to hook you up make sure you tell them bobby had mentioned the lighter blades
I have a set on my Ion x That weights 177.8gr :?

I am flying in the 180 range and they are great, can't wait to try some light ones, bring them with you to MHA B please.
I really like the Ion-X at 10 pounds with the 5s1p's to B. Super nice setup, even if your hard 3D guys only get 5-6 minutes on it. I can get an easy 6 and only put back in 2700-3000, I only opuut in 3100 after Matt Botos ed'd my Ion for 5.5 minutes at Chatti. Gotta love that. :glasses2:

yeh those packs do pretty good , but Im ganna stick with some ma like those 2 10s2ps , they fly better than the prolite 8000 ( 5% better) that Andy Rummer flew at IRCHA last year , Matt flew mine a total of 12 min , put back 8400 and still had plently of power , cant beat the 202 peak amp packs , so 10 min is my limit on these packs , I got a good video of Matt flying Wills Ion , I couldnt get one of mine though , had a tail vid 80% throttle or more that Im still trying to track down ,

Hi, :D
Witch setup can I use on ION :?:
motor  (NEU, HACKER,...)
controller
I do not like to change a lot on the stock ion, maybe other gear to accept different brands of motors, but not the heavy stuff to keep it within a decent price range.
The EVO 20 3700 5S1P packs I have already from my E-raptor.
Please note with motor and controller also the type of motor and controller.
Or does someone tell me to consider to stay with 50 size and wait for the MXR500
THANKS a lot for the help.

Run 690's on the 32-3/77-O setup the 700's will shorten your flight time by a little bit and increase your temps a little bit as well.
Mongo is right about this combo. You will get 5 minutes of HARD 3D with this setup. The 2-stage give you more options for motors, but you need to decide if you want to be a tester or a flyer. ;)
The current MXR setup is getting about 1 minute more hard 3D flying time than this Ion setup, and the Ion is arguably more powerful, although I know Eric is trying more motor/ESC combos. As Mongo also says, and I agree, unless you just want a 90 sized machine and are not comsidering another 50, you may want to wait a little while and see how the MXR comes along.

I'd like to say thanks Will for your testing and this thread ---I can say its 99% responsible for my soon to arrive Ion_X!
Anyone care to guess how long this battery setup will work running the Neu 1521- Hacker 77 0, rotortech 700's and the Evo 3700's for Sport Flying/Very mild? I'm assuming/hoping 7 minutes.
Charging - I plan to use 1010C's/210V combo's to charge these.. are folks charging these in series on the 1010C - if so at what rates are safe/or optimal to prolong battery life?
I'd like to have 3 sets of batteries for my arriving shortly Ion-X. Should I consider going with a set of the tried and true TP packs to get more flight time ---- or just do 6 of the 3700's? I fly very mild sport - etc...

8000 prolites will work great for a 8 min flat sport flying , evos should do great for 5 min flat

I doubt you will get more than 6 minutes max on this setup with the 1p packs even doing mild flying without hurting the packs. Bigger p packs up the weight and don't really give that much more time to justify the extra weight IMHO unless you go to 3 or 4 p and then the wight is even more. IMHO the Ion flys so much better at 10 pounds than at 11.5 or 12, I used to have 4 sets of TP 8000 and 3 sets of Tanic 8880's and many flights so I know pretty well how it flys at the higher weights. I much prefer the 5 minute flights and 10 pound flying weight. I have a set of 5s2p EVO 20's and I can get about 1 minute more or 6 minutes, but temps are up about 5 to 20 degrees and I am much happier with the 10 pound RTF weight. Also, the ROXXTER and the MRX500 both of which I am very interested in are a perfect match for the 3700 EVO packs so I want to stay with packs I can use in multiple applications. Higher P also costs a lot higher $$ and teh 1p's are my chioce.
It is somewhat complicated, I know but this is where I have arrived to the conclusion the 5s1p EVO packs are the best bang for the buck for me.
Thank you VERY much!!
Will
