I shot this video yesterday at Black Sheep of Henry Caldwell and Marcus Kim test flying my single stage 32-3 equipped Ion-X. I think Bobby Smith was right on the $$ when he said I should probably try these new Duralite 5s1p EVO 20 Packs to get my Ion down to 10 pounds and get 5+ minutes of very spirited (my kinda slow and high) flying. We are only gettign 3.5-4 minutes of HARD 3D, so far but the packs are only 5 cycles old.
Check the video and let us know what you think!! We are still testing, so far the results are pretty fun. You definitely have to time things more closely with these packs than say, some 8000's but the fun factor IMHO is incredible with a 10 pound Ion-X.

How are you abusing them? Also curious about how you are charging them? 1C? or more? What kind of amps are you pulling? Thanks for your help on this.
Im a Bobby too.

Pulsar, those FP's can be charged at 2C.

those FP's can be charged at 2C.
Doing a 2C charge with these cells can half their cycle life.
I use FP in my MP but I still only charge mine at maximum of 1C, all my lipo's are charged at 1C maximum.
I want lots of cycles for the £££'s

Has anyone given the 5s2p 5000 packs a try? They would save about 12-14oz over the TP 8000 packs. Should also increase machines power over the 3700 packs.

I sure am wanting to snag up a pair of these 5S1P packs.. Has anyone tried the EVO 5S2P's in comparison to the TP 5S4P's that some of us are running? Tp's come in @ 782grm versus the Evo's @ 670grm.. ..

Flyign report. 5 more flights on these 5s1p EVO 20 packs this weekend so far, they are getting better and better, and ROCKING the Ion-X. I will be selling the last set of my Tanic 8880's once I return home.
Interesting observation I thought I would share. At the beginning I used to need to balance these packs after flying and before charging every flight to suite me. I still put hte balancers on them after every flight but they are staying very close to perfectly in balance now and most times the balancers never flash any lights other than in startup selftest and then the finished/balanced light. I very much prefer the Duaralite balancers over TP ones I also own.

Very interesting observation, Will!
i am using some 5S 1P 3700 Polyquest Packs wich should be the same cells but not selected and matched.
have about 30 flights on them. cannot say they become better (I didn`t feel more Power or get longer flighttime)
They are flashing two times on the Hyperion Balancer after every 7-8 minute 3D flight.
2 flashes will mean cell imbalance between 0.02V and 0.195V.
Put 3300-3500mAh back.
If a friend does a 20 minute only Hover flight with them and they don`t get hot, tey`re fully balanced after the flight too.

I have used the TP 8000 5S4P packs and the TP 5s4p 5300 packs both are great cells But i prefer the 5300 packs out of the 2 .
And wiht the the EVO 5S1P 3700 packs they are a whole New ball game they are very light and i can get HARD3 D out fo them for 5 minutes same as the 5300 packs and they are lighter

Ok so heres another question. Are you guys balancing with a TP balancer? If so how did you make the connection between the FP batts and balancer?
My FP batts should be at home when I get back this week. :) Cant wait.

I use Duralite balancer, but I think Jack at Duralite is working on an adapter that will work with the new TP charger/balancer and the EVO 20 Packs.
