Anybody has tried to use deans whip antenna with the new synthetized JR RECEIVER... is there any problems, i want use it in my Stratus...
I am guessing as long as the reciever is on the 72MHz band (or what ever band the whip antenna is designed for) it should be ok. Don't take my word as gospel though, because it isn't.
Looks like you get ot be the guinea pig though.

I seriously doubt the receiver knows what type of antenna is being used on it. I have used base loaded whip antennas on just about every kind of receiver. Just do a range check before flying.

Sorry
I beg to differ there David.
The receiver knows alright..it's called "impedance matching"
If your antenna's impedance does not match the Receivers, then you have lost a lot of sensitivity (ability to work with weak signals).
There are other nusty factors that come to mind like:
increased current draw
distortion
etc.
But when you buy a legitimate Deans antenna on your Frequency band from a reputed Manufacturer then you can safely assume that this has been done for you and is not an issue.
