I was testing my stratus after a crash. I notices the engine RPM increases but the blades are at a very low RPM. After a very colse inspection, I noticed the main gear is turning but the crown gear and head aren't. Does that mean that the autorotation gear is striped. This never happened before. what do you guys think?[/b]

Sounds like the sprag clutch is slipping inside the autorotation unit.

The pin that goes thru the bottom of the autorotation unit and the main shaft is in there?

as david said, it sounds like the sprag clutch is slipping, have you checked the actual bolts that hold the maingear in?.. but yeah i deffinetely would guarantee that it is that sprag clutch..

I had 2 Ions do this same thing and both resulted in a crash the sprag bearing spins in teh housing it is in if you check it closely i bet the bearing is spining in the aluminum housing.
Everything looks normal

Rada make sure the set screws are on the flat of the bearing adn make sure they are not stripped use green loctite on the bearing and re set screws
Both of mine were stripped one went back to Ma the other i retapped and fixxed myself
