Hi Guys

I've just joined the 700 club:hug: It's my first nitro, so it's going to be a new adventure for me!

Anyway, I've currently got two Outrage 2cell 2500mah receiver batteries, brand new in the box. I feel that these are on the small side, as I bought them for my 600.

Would wiring them in parallel make them 2cell 5000mah and how would I do it? I think I would still need to balance separately?

Granted they might wea bit on the smaller side.

But you have 2 of them. Why not fly 3-4 flights then change to a fresh pack ?

i do this with my 600n packs (2s2000's) , i have plenty of power left over in each pack but why bother risking running out of power when you have a fresh pack right there ?

Another thing i like to do is keep tabs on how many mah per flight i use. Much easier with 2 packs. This way if you see a sharp rise or a big change in mah per flight you know something is wrong , time to find out.

I bought a tp 4200 for my 700 as i didn;t have any packs and had to buy. Looking back i do like to know more accurately how much per flight i'm using , just in case.

On my 600n i usually run 225-300 mah per flight , fly 3-4 flights per pack and recharge
On my 700 i'm getting 7-10 flights and putting back a variety of mah's 1400-1700 , much harder to see any problems IMO.

Seems how you have them ,why not use them ? When changing out the pack , you can have a quick look around (good thing ).
Put the first one on charge as you use the second one and the only thing that will slow you down in tx batts and fuel.

I'm using a FlightPower Evo Lite 2S, 2100mah on my 700. I can get 3-4 flights depending on how long i fly and how hard i push the machine. I keep a second battery charged if i want to fly more. These packs only cost me $40 a piece and it is simple enough to take off the canopy and swap packs. Especially with the thumb screw canopy mounts i just threw on! hah.

I have 1800mah packs(I feel they are probably under-rated and about 2100mah) and I get 5+ flight out of my heli prior to swapping packs. I run Futaba BLS451's which I think are very efficient compared to other servos.

I think 3-4 flights is reasonable for "normal" ie JR8717 or Align 610/620 servos, and swapping packs would be worth the effort versus adding another 140 grams of weight or so.

All makes sense!

I'll just stick with the two separate packs then and swap them out.

Thanks guys
