The Hatori muffler works extremely well on this motor, just as long as you can keep it on. I understand that there is a newer version that has the stainless adapter and will now fit the Spectra-G.

Thought I better update this thread !! ..
I'm running the new Hatori 957 on the TRM equipped Spectra G , it goes really well ..and stays on now the motor is run in !!!. and I've got the Century V2 on the std 231 on my other Spectra.. IMO the reducer for the V2 is a waste , made no noticable difference to the heli ....

But I do like the gassers !!!!!

I will have someone post some pic's... On the outside of the muffler, the header has been shaped to loose some of that wasted weight it had, plus some of the internal welding technics were changed for the bolt guides to keep the weight down...The big change is the internal tuning has been optimized with the baffles... Other than that, it looks like the V2....
They should be here first week in July
Bill

Bill,

Have you compared the V3 for weight, sound and performance against the Hatori?

This one , Rick's p/n CN3068, is the old , useless Century V1..
Well. the piccy is the V1 , P/n is for V2 , Century p/n for V3 is CN3069, it's on Century's site , cant see it on Ricks ??

Any reports on the V3 so far ? ( apart from the one above , of course !!  )

Peter,

Karen from Ricks emailed me this morning and said they had the new ones (CN3069) in stock.

You can order one using the "Fast Order" form.

Actually, she told me they have both the 3068 and 3069 in stock so perhaps they're waiting to sell off the 3068's before puting the 3069's on the site.

I think I'd rather get another Hatori for #2 machine than use another Century product anyway ....

I have the Hatori #957 and it works well.

They don't supply a gasket for between the pipe and adapter plate so I used some copper RTV.

Brownie told me the Copper RTV would blow out and he was right. The pipe is still tight but i'm getting a trace of oil leaking from that joint.

The joint between the plate and cylinder is still good.

I'm trying to find some of the loctite 596 superflex RTV that brownie's using. He say's it works better than the copper.

I've got Loctite Blue Max 587 silicone gasket maker ; it works great on the gassers and the nitro machines .. seems to stay put...

I got my V3 in the mail today.

I compared it to the Hatori #957 for weight and they are exactly the same at 358gm (12.6oz) including all mounting bolts.

Does this mean that Century is re-branding the Hatori to their V3? Does the Century version come with all of the necessary gasket materials?

CustomPC

No, they are very different pipes.

Neither pipe come with gaskets. Bill Meador has recemmeded to me not to use any gasket as the pipe remain tight with direct metal to metal contact.
