Thought I would post some pictures of my setup just in case anyone else needs info. I'm striving for neatness and if anyone has some suggestions, please share.

*Note: I do not have a shutter trigger arranged yet in these photos. I'm probably going to install an HS-55 servo to the camera mount itself...not the camera.

Hey if that camera has an IR trigger then just get one from Gentleds.com

Great stuff.

No IR. I was going to go that route, but then I had heard alot of feedback about sunlight setting it off when you don't want it to and not setting it off when you want it to.

There's another switch I'm considering from http://www.rc-flysoft.com/ .

This would electronically trigger my shutter from the RX...but I'm not too keen about cracking open my camera and soldering this bugger on. Has anyone here done it?

Well if there is no remote cord capability or IR then you are going to have to go that route or the mechanical servo type.

Jody makes a real simple trigger that works well. Might be your best option.

But not on my helicopter! These images were taken from my camera/mount on a friend's Century Predator gasser using 710mm blades at 1650 RPM.

Location: Boreal Ski Resort, Sierra Nevada Mts
Altitude: 7200 ft (lodge base altitude)
Outside air temperature: +43F
Camera: Canon S2 IS shot in Special Scene Mode: Snow
Mount: HCS Pro 60-3X
Downlink: Black Widow 200mW (borrowed)
Mount TX: JR 6102 w/JR NER-226X RX

The Boreal manager was easy to work with and we were invited back to do some shots from the summit another day.

These shots were taken during just one flight when we switched out the mounts to give mine a try. I can't wait to get my heli broken-in enough to strap the mount to my Bergen Intrepid EB gasser!

Hmmm...

That Predator looks familar and then I noticed your location..

That wouldn't happen to belong to a bum of an old U2 pilot would it? :D

It it does tell him I said Hi next time you see him. :D

Yup...that would be Bert's chopper! He's such a GREAT guy. What a sport to let me throw my mount under his heli for a test run. His broadcast 360 is sweet. I love not having to worry about getting the noodles in the shot. I have run his camera a couple of times (live video and stills)...and I have a blast working with him every time.

Wait a minute Jeanette!

You are having way to much fun!!! Cool pics, I always wondered what snow mode did. Thanks for sharing.

The EB should be a GREAT platform with plenty of rotor disk for if you have to auto. Major hangtime on 810 V's to.

Thank you. I really need to put an updated picture up since I have the downlink installed now and everything is ready to go. Vet wrap does wonders for cleaning up wiring!

nice rig! I flew a Modified GMI mount from HCS and I loved it!! it performed MUCH better and was more stable than my AirFoil M1.

I wouldnt hesitate to buy another product from Jody at HCS. Fantastic guy!

Not to hi-jack the thread, but if anyone's looking I'm selling a HCS GMI III mount. It's listed in the for sale section (misc) here and on RR.

Now back to your regularly scheduled program

Anthony
