the Swash is keeping me from finishing, I hate to pay shipping on ONE part. I also wish the frames could use any other servo than the 56, as they cost at least double a lot of other good servos. :DOH Anybody using other than the HS-56?

Maybe one day I will have my G4 flying... :arggg:

You have to use an HS-56 (from what I understand) nothing else fits right.

Well from the designers prospective you can use anything you want you just need to check to see if the servo you want to use is the same in width as HS56 also you may need to shim the servo out in order to achieve proper geometry (linkage rods need to line up correctly)

Will, Yes you will need a universal swash the reason is in order to achieve the 120 servo layout and top mount motor the stock ccpm swash would not work. No need to go to far into details But I tried to make it work

Charley had a lead on getting some swashes and I think they were going to ba available from James @ Main Rotor Hobbies.

THe servo question has come up a lot. When Charley designed the true 120 he had to use the measurements off one of the available servos. He chose the 56 becuase it was considered the heat. I know he has since looked @ the 65 (I know that does not help) and found it would need spacer (3/16") to fit.

DD is right, (and it pains me to say that  ) without major modification.

What servos were you concidering? I know Futaba makes some cheaper ones but they are too proud of thier gear kits for them to be cost affective.

Me to. Macs is not gonna order any more 56's, they are selling the 65's only now in that class because the specs are a lot better. :DOH I am gonna just fly the align frames a while longer until I destroy them and hope that a new servo mount is made for the RW frameset, hint hint.

I'm in the process of finishing up a G4 now. I just used the 56's since that's what it called for and I had some left. The 56's are getting really hard to come by now with the 65 pretty much taking it's place. The E-Flite 75's just haven't been tough enough from what I've seen. I'm building my G4 up with all the cool Micro Heli stuff. It should be a neat little machine.

I have definitely had mixed and sloppy results with the S-75's. Got a set of 65's o the way from Mac's to replace mine with. Cheaper than the old 56's were as well.

www.Modefosheli.com Will the latest HS1111 work?

If a HS1111 is a ALign part, I do not think it will work.

I buy from the great people that advertise with us, and I know Mac's can get the swashes they just don't stock them.

The HS1111 is the swash that comes with the SE kit, has the Align logo on the face of it. The HS 1061 is an upgrade to an earlier version...I believe! And yes, Mac's the man!

I ahve a new SE kit with the logo on the swash. It will not work on the RW frameset form the trial fit I did.

Looking forward to seeing you at another event soon Keith!!

I just finished my G4 frame. Used an all-metal K&T swashplate. Bought it from www.flying-hobby.com in HK a year ago. But I guess you can use the "universal" Align CCPM (120 deg) swash as well.
Also using Futaba 3107s. As they only have one big mounting-hole, I had to use a washer fo make the sit tight to the delrin mounts.
Works like a charm!

The Align HS1111 does not work on the G4 frame, the 120 swash connection is entirely reversed on the G4, look at Align part HS1061 which does work and you will see the difference.

Hey Will Charlie has a swash that works, I picked one up a few weeks ago from him in a pinch as I was building a new G4 T-Rex for Steven from scratch, it was $30 and is working fine.
