I am getting piss off with my R90SE, i have done what i can do, and the tail still whack like mad. I need some help ! it been like 3 months already, and i still can fly a sh*t out of it.

After checking main shaft, tail shaft, fly bar length, my tail still whacking UP and DOWN like mad ( very fast ). When i on idle up, the whacking get worse. Last week, 2 screw at the boom support snap off because there is alot of vibration at the tail. Any idea why is there so much vibration ? where the tail will whack up and down and screws snapping off.

O.. yar, i also notice my boom there got a crack line. Coz the metal thing which screw onto the boom support is to tight i think, so there is abit of crack now.

My heli have never been crash b4, after running my heli for like 9 tanks, then my tail started to vibrate like mad.

Anyidea why like that ? does crack on the boom cause the tail to vibrate up and down very fast ?

I am running V blade 690mm, YS91ST4. V paddles, GY611

I think your problem isn't on the tail side, its probably on the head setup.. i'd check for any loose screws on the head assembly, and carefully check that the pitch of both blades are the same and blade grips to be tightly screwed to the hub..

if all good, check the meshing of the gears on both sides of the Torque tube in the boom..

keep us posted..

Hi,

The cracked tail boom could cause it to vibrate as you say. After you fix the boom with a new one proceed below. If after installing the new carbon boom as below and if it still vibrates then we'll go to the next step. (come over to http://www.team-raptor.net for technical assistance through specializing factory reps). Otherwise it may be related to the main rotor head balance. The fin mount should be glued to the carbon boom with epoxy after cleaning and scuffing - cleaning the contact surface area of the carbon. When you glue it do so with the boom in the correct position in the mechanics, install the supports and align everything before the glue hardens. Tighten the fin mount to align/seat it and squeeze some of the glue out but not all. After the glue hardens you can tighten the clamping screws up a bit more. Do not crush the boom by tightening the clamp up too much and let the glue do part of the holding task. Blue loctite should be applied to all screws.

The boom supports need to be custom fitted to the sideframes. They need to be filed at an angle and the frame bosses filed too. When it is correct and they are tightened down the other ends should just kiss the fin mount. This way you do not have any bowing of the boom supports with canted stress. Use loctite sleeve retainer between the boom support ends and the bolts and blue loctite on the bolt threads.

If that doesn't work for you... spend 5 bucks and replace your dampeners.

Had the same problem on my R90. Messed with it for a month and couldn't figure it out. One of the other guys in my club suggested changing the dampeners and POW.

Everything sorted out. No more vibrations. Just make sure you use a little lube on them.
