Guys, I dont have experience with 3 neddle engines and this is my first OS with that configutation.
The engine have already run more than a Gallon of 15%. I put TODAY a new Enya 3 glow plug, It has a Hattory Muffler.
When I am Spool up (transition between idle and full speed) the engine beguin to coufh like is rich and then work ok but this is making the engine quit in the air.
I know I have to close/lean the mid neddle but I am not really sure if I am doing it correctly..........Here is what I am doing:
Firts I am uncrewing the nut that is on top of the gold thing on the carburator and then closing the screw that is also atached to that gold part.....Then I screw again the nut...........IS THIS THE WAY???
I close it like 1/4 and try it and still the same problem.
I just cant finish adjusting it because I run out of fuel so I will try it next saturday/sunday.......Also I will try a new fresh gallon of fuel
Please let me know and if you have any tip for me.
THX,
Isaac

I would try to lean the low end some. Sounds like it is too rich.
If it coughs and sputters when transistioning between idle and high. Then low end to rick.
If it dies when trying to transistion between idle and high. Then low end to lean.

That is the low end needle. But you do not turn anything but the screw with the slot. It will only turn about 60 degs each direction from center position. Clockwise direction is richer, counter clockwise is leaner.
The high end needle on the carb is the one that the fuel line inlet is attached. The mid range needle is the other needle.

Hello David, I am very confuse :arggg:
You mean that the screw that is on the gold part is the LOW needle  and this is the one thats is going to cure the transition from low to hi?
That is the one I was closing clockwise to lean it but what you say is that I have to open it counter clockwise to cure my problem. Is that right?

Guys, in order to cure my transition from LOW to HI problem, what do I have to do with the screw on the gold part? Close it clockwise or open it conterclockwise?

OK looking at the motor the midrange is the needle most toward the front of the motor. The low is the screw you turn, you are callin the gold one, and the rearmost needle withthe fuel inlet is teh main needle.
Factory settings for the low is in the center. As David said, you can only turn it about 60 degrees on each side of center. If you turn it to much, I think you can mess up the carb. Set this low end screw in the center of its travel, or basicqally where the slot in the screw is straight up and down with the gold plate the screw goes through. (See the page from the manual below it is the second pic down that shows the low end default setting) Set it back at the default and try to start and run the engine.
Hope this helps,

Guys, I was thinking that I solve my problem since I lean a little more my MID but here is what I am experiencing now.
I was trying to lean more the MID but when I close it, the engine is making the zizzling sound so I have to open it back. The problem is that my MID is open exactly 3 turns Belive it or not but is exactly 3 turn open and I cant lean it more because the engine make the zizzling sound and the tail beguin to vibrate.
Engine is OS 70 SZ-H, I was checking my hover pitch is 6º and the hover throttle is exactly at 50% open. I am using Enya 3 new plug. Mavrerick 680 sport blades. Coolpower 15% nitro
My engine have a Hattory muffler but I dont have any idea what model or number it is. Here is a picture of it: http://www.runryder.com/helicopter/gallery/288/Raptor_012.jpg
Idle is perfect, HI throttle is perfect. At hover is smoking a lot and I will say I have a good head speed but when I go to full throtle is do not go up balistically
I am trying to do some loops but is like the engine does not have power. The engine is almost new. I just burn 2 gallons making the breaking with a lot of patience and the thing always trow a lot of smoke during this breaking period.
What can be the problem!!!!!
