Well i finally put everything together for a test run this weekend. I hadnt started the wren for a couple of months and was really looking forward to hearing that turbine run...It is always such a rush. The Cuatro is a great kit, it ran extremely smoothly, i especialy like the belt drive. Now its running ok i will tidy up the wires and bolt the blades on. I will post some pics when my gf gets back from Brazil with my camera!!

A question regarding the belt, how tight are you guys running yours? Do you stick to the manuals specs or run it a little tighter? I noticed it was flapping a bit whn i ran it a high rpms.

ok i finaly made a quick clip of the cuatros first test with the blades on.....it was very smooth and needed no trimming, i was surprised when i tached the head at 1400 rpms as it seemed alot faster...maybe i need new bateries in my sky tach!!

finally got round to painting the canopy....I am really happy with how stable the cuatro is, I ran the tank dry (about 12 mins) in one continuous hover this weekend, once i had the heli 4 feet of the ground my fingers were of the collective for practicaly the whole time with just a tiny little bit of correcting on the cyclic when the breeze picked up. It sat in a hover in the same spot for the whole time!! The turbine ran faultlessly with a very steady headspeed of 1450 rpms...

Cheers, I followed the advice given by others on this and other forums on painting the canopy...previous attempts have always left something to to be desired!! However using the help given i am happy with the finish. I was concentrating so hard on getting the finish right i think the actual design is lacking. (if i knew it was going to turn out so well i would have thought about it some more!!)

THe finish looks really smooth and shiny. Great job! Now that you got the technique, the design can get fancy as you want it to be. I think it looks great already and easy to see.

Well I painted the mesh black, i think it looks aloy better. I also took some video at the field. ....Sorry about the quality, a combination of bad light (was just about to rain) and cruddy camera and only me at the field. It was VERY windy, i would normally not fly with the wind so strong but with the size/weight and power of the cuatro/turbine it was easier than i thought. I must say i am very pleased with it, i have swapped the MAH810 blades for the V-Blades, not because i was unhappy with them but because the MAH would not fold back so i could put the in a blade holder, the V-BLades do so it is easier to transport. They both fly very nice, i do like the white tips and roots on the MAH tho, i might paint the tips of the v-blades one day....

Turbine was only running at 120k max and the power was ample enough for me, 15 mins+ flight time with a headspeed of 1450...
