Hi all,

Thinking of getting a Trex 250 therefore I will require a new Rx.

Looking at the AR6100, some of them are updated with v1.6 firmware, just wondering will this have any significant compatibility with any radio (specially my DSX9)?

What are the differences between the non-v1.6 and the v1.6 Rx and how do they affect my radio?

Thanks

Nope, they are all compatible.

Version 1.2 fixed a problem with certain things causing an uncommand pitch change.

Version 1.6 added Quick Conenct and flashing LEDs to warn you of an in flight reboot.

Thanks mate, could you please tell me what the Quick Connect actually do and what does flight reboot mean?

Thanks

Quick Connect added a feature where the Rx remembers the last two channels it used. When it powers up, it checks those two channels for the bound Tx. If the Tx is found transmitting on those two chanels, it links immediately and flashes the LEDs to tell you.

The Rx has no idea how long it was off, 1 micro second, 1 secojd, 1 minute, 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week, or etc.

So if it sees the Tx on the same two channels (out of 79 channels available), itthinks it rebooted in flight.

Spektrum Rxes are rated down to 3.5 volts. My testing shows most work down to about 3 volts. But if the power goes too low, the Rx reboots, just like your computer. The reboot is very fast, but if the Rx has to scan the 79 channels to find the Tx, it takes a few seconds. In flight, you would have no control for those few seconds.

Quick Connect means that if this in flight reboot occurs, the time to reconnect, once th evoltage come back up, it almost instantly.

Ok i had some weird things happening to my Rx and Gyro, I think it has to do with the Quick Connect:

My Rx is R921 gyro is GY401 (on my 450), and the first time I plug in my power pack with the Tx on and only set to ThrotHold;
- Gyro light flashese
- Rx light remains solid

When I unplug the power and plug it back in again, with the Tx on and untouched from when I disconnected the power (so TH on still with everything else by default)
- Gyro light solid
- Rx light flashes

Why is that? Does this have anything to do with quick connect?

I had someone telling me that Rx didnt boot up fast enough for the Gyro to initialise, and by flipping the gyro switch between HH and RM 3 times it woudl fix the problem, although the gyro light will still flash...

What puzzles me is why is the 2nd time the gyro light goes solid while the Rx flashes?

You need to rebind after you do your gyro setup.

What is happening, is that the gyro is initializing before that Tx and Rx link. So any differences between the settings when yuo did the bind and what you ended up with, look like an input to the gyro.

The Rx lights flashing after the power cycle is due to the Rx seeing that it seemed to be off while the Tx remained on. It is supposed to do that.

But when i flew it (hover only) it didnt seemed to have much probs with it, is that the fact that it will still fly fine? Or it's just that I haven't encountered anything because I'm not pulling anything hard?

You will typically find that it drifts. It isn't really drifting, it is seeing a slight input.

so what do I do to fix that up?

Rebind after setting up the tail.
