Sorry Rodney, I did not even know about it until Monday night when talking to Clint. I posted the event because I know Mac does it up right!!

We will be flying at the SkyKnights Event part of the day on Sat, but at the Sheep Friday and Sunday.

100 pilots expected with three days notice? Where has this been advertised elsewhere?

I'd go if I had a clue :(

My work travel schedule conflicts with most of the events this year!

Maybe next time...

Mac has it this same weekend every year from what I have been recently told. It is a lot of planks, but I figured I would post it as soon as I found out about it to help get some heli flyers there. I would bet people like BDIS and Rob Jones will be there, I don't know why nobody shared it, I guess everybody is working or something. I would have liked to go to had I known.

Mac's is a gorgeous place to fly and feels like home. His new addition has a large workshop to wrench in if it gets to hot, and there is plenty of covered wrenching/pitting area there as well. The hobby shop...well, I have never been in a better or more fairly priced shop anywhere!

I hope to get back to Mac's this year for an event. Rumour has it that Clint is going to host an event there this year, which I hope turns out to be true.

Ahh...it's a PLANK event....that explains why we didn't hear nuttin bout it.

Interesting they'd even allow helis at their event...usually unheard of for plank events. I did get an award for flying my Trex, at a mostly plank electric fun fly, so there's always exceptions.

Thanks for the info, Will

Erich,
If you ever go to Mac Hodges. You will understand quickly that he does not discriminate against any RCers. The event this weekend is his annual Pop Curtis fly in. I have been to this event before when there were 200 plus pilots in attendance. Flying helicopters right along with the planes from Giant scale to foamies. Mac has one of the most beautiful flying facilities in the USA. And a fully stocked hobby shop that you can on the front porch and fly your model. Also Cub rides thrown in. Mac's is a must visit destination for RCers.

I guess I misrepresented Mac's. It is a lot of planks does not make it a plank event. It is a fly what you brung event, where everybody is welcome. Mac's is the place where even at HeliFreak-Invasions everybody is welcome. Check out this video of Ryan Evans flying his bad-ass IMAC plank. Mac also flew his BIG bomber at the invasion. There were a few planks flying and we all got along. Mac's is an oasis in the middle of a BIG R/C Hobby. You just gotta go there and experience it. I guess you can tell Mac's is dear to my heart.
