G'day all
Im in the process of buying a Blade McX and a CX2 and was wondering, apart from blades and batteries what other spares should I stock up on. 2 teenage boys will be flying these 2 choppers.
Any thoughts.
Seasons Greetings

This is a double post... you asked the same question in the CX/2 forum.

Makes sense to post in both forums to me...different crowds, different machines.
I'd say for the MCX you'll want spare Inner Shafts and Flybars, as I have broken 2 of each after about 50 crashes/blade strikes, and that is all I have broken. Not even any blades chipped yet. The blades on the MCX are quite durable.
The CX2 blades are very fragile, and I've broken a LOT of those on mine. I've also broken the landing skids, and replaced with aftermarket "Unbreakable" skids that are more rubbery.
Both good birds, although the MCX is just goofy fun in very calm air...it has effectively grounded my CX2. :YeaBaby:

I've replaced numerous blades and a couple of flybars on the CX2 and am on my third 4-in-1 electronics (about $65 per). The Cx2's body is also now substantially CA. I haven't had any problems with the inner or outer shafts, servos, gears, motors, skids or links.
The MCX is as tough as "very light" nails. I've now flown the MCX more than the CX2. This is because I can more easily fly circuits inside the house where as the CX2 was more restricted to hovers or flying in an empty garage due to it's larger size.
When I purchased the MCX, based on my experience with the CX2, I bought a spare for each motor, landing skid, body, boom, tail, and of course blades. So far, I haven't replaced anything yet (except for the white body and tail--my preference over yellow). My flying is probably no better but the little heli is more stable. The MCX has been wrecked numerous times and to my amazment, the only thing I've done is rotated the top blades when one crash tore off the ball which links to the flybar (both top blades have a ball link, but th flybar is linked to only one).
When I wreck the CX2, I expect to at least chip one of the blades. When the MCX wrecks, I inspect it and simply fly it some more.
