This is my first JR Gyro, I replaced my 401 with a 770 3D on a 600E Trex running 8S.
First flight I had to turn the gain down to about 54 or it wagged like crazy, then after any tail input the tail swings slowly back and forth and doesnt feel locked in ..
Set Up on a XP9303 with Spectrum Module and Gyro Gain on AUX2 FMOD switch
ATV 150% limits set on Gyro
DR 100%
EXP 50% and lowered all the way to LIN but still the slow wag after rudder input
Servo arm 11mm with a 9254 Servo.
So what do I need to do to get this working correctly, I have seen quite a few people fly this gyro and it looks locked in ..

Unhook your tail control rod from your tail pitch slider and make sure their is no binding or catching. The least little bit of binding anywhere on the tail servo all the way back will cause a wag.
Edit*** You may need to move the ball on the servo horn out too, but try the above first before you monkey with anything else.

Already checked it when I installed the Gyro and its smooth as silk with no binding at all. This is a slow wag only after rudder input, not the high speed wag ya get when ya have too much gain turned in ..

With the 770 you want to move the ball IN and raise the limit pot setting. Then you should be able to raise the gain.
On my Vibe, I moved the ball in 2 holes and that got rid of most of the bounce back (I had to have teh gain down around 53 on the gyro sense to stop the wag). Raising the gain to 62 or so fixed the rest.

Jeremy, after putting the Heli outside for about 20 min before flying it I noticed the TR pitch slider was dragging from the lube getting cold, cleaned it off with some silicone spray and its nice and smooth. I didnt realize the cold was causing an issue so I will fly it one more time before adjustments.
Thanks Terry I will keep that in mind after the next test flight, I only have one more hole I can go in though as I set it to 11 mm to start with.
I'll let you guys know how I make out this afternoon .
Thanks

Jeremy & Terry, Thanks Guys that thing is now rock solid !! I put all my radio settings back to recommended with the exception of the gain, its a little warmer today but I still sprayed the pitch slider with a little silicone, and moved the ball all the way in to the 1st hole. Gain is at 67 and the travel adjustment is all the way up on the pot but it really is locked in and feels Great, way better than my old 401. I am one Happy Camper..
Thanks again Guys, you can always depend on Helifreak to have the folks who can help ya out when your stumped !!
