Personally I haven't, but I know a few folks that have Deans on G3's and haven't complained of any problems.

The stock antenna on a G3 RX is almost (not quite) as short as the older RX with a base loaded antenna.
The G3 antenna is just over a foot shorter than what is on my older 1024 RX, If you put a base loaded on there, it will be electrically a foot to long.
I was thinking about replacing a portion of my antenna with an equal length piece of music wire as a whip antenna.

I've done 2 of the G3 recvrs. One with the Revolution and one with the Deans. I haven't had any problems with mine. I cut them 4" from the case like the instructions with the antenna.

Here is a very good article on receiver antennas and the effects of shoortening, lengthening or adding a whip.

I used Revolution base loaded antennas on all 5 of my G3 Rx's last year - no problems.

I too am thinking of going revolutionized. Now that they have been out a little while longer. Are the base loaded ant. working well?
