View Full Version : Second Annual Aerobats Helicopter Fly-In Sacramento, PA

Come join the Aerobats Flying Club the weekend of June 24-25 2006 to celebrate the arrival of the summer flying season. This is a chance to come out and fly, enjoy, get help with your helicopter, learn some new tricks and meet everyone. There are no pilot fees and food and drinks will be available at reasonable prices.

The Fly-in starts anytime after 9:00 a.m. and ends when it gets dark. Flying is on a wide open 600-foot grass runway surrounded by hay fields. No Open Flying until after 5pm Sunday. Anyone can join us. If you want to fly you need to have an AMA card.

Last Year the We had 17 registered pilots who ripped up the sky!

Rudy Ackerman came from as far away as Texas. The Boys from Maryland http://www.baltimoreboyz.us Really put on some show! Beresford Davis (Beast) gave a bunch a people a helping hand and Greg Alderman pleased the crowd with his Huge Turbine Heli!

Sounds like a good time... I will be bringing my 90 for sure. Hopefully i will have my 50 back together by then.

Littleman .. I think you may have misunderstood. What is meant by no "Open Flying" is that only Helicopters may be flown on Saturday and on Sunday until 5 PM

I had wondered the same thing AJ. :dontknow I may have to take my 60 scratch built along for in the evening...last time I flew a plank one of the wheels fell off in flight! Makes for an interesting landing :shock:
One of the guys that was watching said "what are ya gonna do?" I said ....crash! LOL

I'll be there on Sunday, can't make it Sat. Gonna bring the new Hawk Pro... it's a really friendly heli... you should see it's tail wag!! lol

That's OK, wattybotts, if you don't have one handy, I'm sure we can come up with one at the FF!!!! (gosh, I hope not! :wink: )

Yeah, I bought a Hawk Pro and Nathaniel already knows. We've talked about it several times. I think it's gonna be a good little heli, but it's gonna need some "upgrades"!
I wanted to put something together as cheap as I could and this was it. I must say, I have a nice little flying heli for under $485. That's cheap for a heli. I wanted to show some of the guys at the club that you don't have to spend a HUGE amount to have fun with a heli.

Site: Aerobats Flying Club field – 7/10 of a mile north of Route 25 in Sacramento.

From the north - on I-81, exit 112, turn right (west) go 12 miles on Route 25, (just past Klinger Chevrolet) turn right on Mahantongo St.

Or from Sunbury, take Route 147 south to Mandata, then Route 225 to Berrysburg, then Route 25 east to Sacramento, turn left on Mahantongo St.

From the south – on I-81, exit 107, turn right (west) on Route 209, go 1 mi, turn right on Main St, go 2 mi to stop sign (W. Center St) turn left, go 4 mi, turn left on Schwenks Rd, go 2 mi to stop sign (Route 25) turn left, go ½ mi, turn right on Mahantongo St.

Or from Harrisburg, 322 west to Dauphin, then Route 147 or Route 225 north to Halifax, then Route 225 north thru Elizabethville to Berrysburg, then Route 25 east to Sacramento, turn left on Mahantongo St.

Well, I wish I could've made it yesterday cause today was a washout! I did get to fly a half a tank though and Frank and AJ flew betwen the rain drops.
By the way, Great flying you guys!! Frank, you've really come a long way since the last time I saw you fly! I was impressed! And AJ, man... what can I say, excellent!!
We were all a little disappointed that we didn't get to fly more but we had a good time anyway!

Rob and I came up today, hoping that it would clear atleast for alittle while, but we had no luck. AJ and Shoopey, we were looking forward to catching up with you guys. Maybe next year.

we all split around 12 00 i got one flight in in a lite rain about 11 30, around noon it started absolutly pouring. are you going to ircha Bobby?

What's the date on the Delaware FF?
I talked to a friend of mine and I think we're gonna try and make OC's this year.
