Do you guys typically fire up your heli without it on the mount and spool up to let the blades find center, then attach it to the mount and go for it?

Short answer is no. Not now that we have some experience. When we first started I would like to take the heli only on a flight before putting the mount on. Now it is a matter of starting the heli on the mount and letting it warm up before lift off. There is no substitute for practice, I like each flight to have an objective.
