Hi Guys,

I just bought the package from flying-hobby and it contains a 2s receiver lipo batteri but I would like to use the main packs for the power to the servos etc. Is that a good idea and what do I need (very new to this)?

You need a BEC. The Gaui "BEC" that comes with the kit can't be used. You should buy a SportBEC. They're about $25 and it will let you use the main flight packs for the electronics. It will probably require some soldering skills to wire up.

to make it a little more clear... if you want to use the main pack to power the electronics, then yes, get a SportBEC...follow the directions carefully and have fun...

OR, do like a lot of us do... use the 2s pack and the Gaui BEC (it's really a voltage regulator).. trust me the Hurri doesn't even notice the extra weight of the 2s pack...plus you can setup the electronics without worrying about the baldes spinning up on you...

Hi,
You have the added benifit of being able to run at 6V with the 2s lipo,
speeds up your servo's a bit. Be carefull if you have 4,8 servo's in your kit (like the futaba 9254)

(My ESC has a BEC in it and that gives me 5V)

Good luck

Agreed. The G550 wont notice that but...
DE Sport BEC is adjustable. 5v or 6v. If running at 6v use a stepdown (5.1) for the tail servo.

I use a 1350MAH 2S, the gaui regulator and an inline align stepdown for the tail servo.

Works fine.
