Does this engine produce good power for the 90 Raptor to fly decent. Do these motors need a head shim to run 30% fuel ? What gear ratio and blade combo works best ? Thanks for looking . :?

they make ok power Mp2 help make more power allso

remember that the needles on this motor will be about 4 1/2 out on the high that normal for tt and the low well you have to see but i would open it about a half turn rich from the factory setting 30% is fine no shimming needed

Im currently running a TT90 with OS 60B carb. needles still set at factory 2 ,2 and 1 turns out for OS carb. im running a muscle pipe 2 and 30% nitro. not sure if it has a shim or not. im still breaking it in, but does seem ok even at a low 1600 head speed. i need to get the upgraded clutch as i think i may have too much gap in mine to allow me any higher head speeds. right now, my gear ratio should be 8.45. running 680 blades for now...more to come when i lean it out and check the clutch gap. hasnt missed a beat with the 60B carb... knock on wood...

The TT90 works fine and is reliable, it just has less power than a YS or OS.

90s are over powered for some people so for general stuff it works fine with the MP-II. When you pound the helicopter real hard you may prefer a stronger engine. The TT engine as mentioned needs to be run on the rich side and the 8.45 ratio is of benefit to it. Seems to like 25% nitro with no ill effects. It has one head gasket and works better with 680mm than 700-710s. The price of the engine is certainly an advantage. People flying contests and hard 3-D usually prefer the most power they can get.
