I have a O.S. .91 SX-H C-Spec Ringed w/Pump that has been running great. Suddenly, it is lean and quits within a minute or two of flight. Myself and others suspect it is the pump
Tower wants $89 for this: Special Stock# LXGDJ2
O.S. Perry Pump .91 SX-H
Which has the same dimensions and looks just like this which costs $29: Special Stock# LXDG59
Perry Pump Regulator
Why can't I just use the $29 one? Can anybody help?
Thanks,
Mike

Mike,
The two Perry pumps are the same physical size and work basically the same.
My understanding from talking to Steve, that there is some internal differences between the regular Perry/Varsane pump and the one that Perry/Varsane makes for OS.
Gary Conley is the one that makes the Perry Pumps. He owns Perry/Varsane and has made the products for a few years.

Word I'm getting is that they work just as well and, given the constant failures in the OS pumps (and I have been an OS loyalist for 20 years but this is bullsh$#), I'm going to try the $29 one first.
It is complete bull that OS charges 3 times as much for the same friggin' pump. Why, because it was 'blessed' enough to visit Japan before they sell it to us stupid caucasians?
Think it will work for my flying style Dave? I trust your opinion.

Well what will work best for your flying style is an OMI Cline setup.
I had two CSpec PS motors. One of them was originally a Cspec with Cline setup. Then it was converted to the PS motor. Then I also got a NIB PS motor. They are both now OMI Cline setups with the 60K carb.
The PS motors would run great. But they would not do it consistently. The Cline setups will run the same every day without any tinkering.
