Well -

It never seems to fail that when your bird is flying it's best, the worst happens.

I built this Vibe taking great care to get all the t's crossed and I's dotted if you will.

I had the YS 91 broken in, all DS8311's, GY 601 w/ 9251 and a 149 receiver topped off with Duralite and 5.2 volt regulator.

I was ripping it up yesterday afternoon and 1/2 way thru a tank I turned to head left to right over the field and that sinking feeling took over when you know you have NO Control over your aircraft and watch it go full blast into the ground - in this case into a 55gal drum, which severed the head and plastered plenty of carbon parts.

When a friend of mine and I were able to retrieve it the batteries were smoking almost on fire, which makes me wonder if I had an electrical failure directly from the pack. I had looked over the ship since I had just blown out some trash from the carb and she was running awesome -

The reason I am suspeting the batts is one - they were smoking, and two -I was using the 4 pack square instead of flat and they fit was reallllly snug in the radio tray.

Oh well -

Just a story of another awesome flying ship to fly no more :arggg:
