Hi Folks,

I have an ep200 already and loving the little heli... but like everyone, once you start, you can't stop and always find an excuse for another heli..

I was looking at this little heli as it appears to have some good writeups and specs - but wanted to ask you folks with one (and possibly with an ep200 as well) some questions.. The answers may help others decide as well - so here goes..

1) How do these compare vs the ep200 V1 ? All up, stability, tail control, crash parts ,etc

2) Both the ep200 and the trex250 had tail issues - how is the tail on the sjm180 - how does it rate and hold ? does it break or develop slop quickly - looks good - has chineese weights already :)

3) How stable and powerful is this heli with the recommended 3000kv motor ?

4) Crash replacemet- how tough is this heli? What parts break most frquently

5) Any gripes or issues with this heli - I know parts availability is one? any others ?

6) Battery life - how long are you flying on thew 3S 1000mah 20c batteries as I see these are the std size

7) what are the best cheap servos ? do hitec hs-45's fit like the ep200 ?

8) anything else worth noting about this heli ?

Sorry for all the questions - if you can answer some or all - Great!

I think this sort of info in one thread will be really valuable for this little heli and newbies to it...

I have a Hurricane 200, SJM180, ELE EP-200 and just finishing a Trex 250 - if I were to buy only one of them again it would be the Trex - I haven't flown it yet, but the quality is way ahead of the others IMHO (and I'm not normally an Align fan - it's my only one).

I don't have a T250 but i own 2 SJM Helis and what i like the most on these helis is that they are almost crash proof :) Quality? yeah maybe the align owners would see some things that need a little attention on the 180, i have a T450 and 600, absolutely love how easy to assemble and setup they are, mostly because o the manual quality but these SJM helis are also easy to assemble even with an average manual (not for a 1st heli owner). You will need a ball link sizing tool.
Parts are available at rc-tek and their service is awesome for US consumers.
I've only had my 180 for a few weeks but all i can tell you is that this little heli flys great for its size, once its setup right. Durable, i've landed pretty hard a couple of times and hit the ground sideways once and no broken parts ( not so lucky with my rexes).
Battery, i've been using a FP1350mAh and lasts about 9 min sport fly and i never went past 6min on 3D.
The tail holds well with a little GU-210 gyro.
Long story short, im a new SJM fan and i would love to see a 600 size of this things, will be the first in line to get one.

Bump!

Well - I bit the bullet and bought a T-Rex250 - now to assemble it....

I would still find the answers to the above questions interesting as at the low price of the sjm180 - you never know when another heli finds it's way to your home -
