Hello all! JUST got my stuff in the mail today. I already see a problem with this motor. The output shaft has a taper at the base and will not fit correctly onto the Kits Mounting bracket. I need a spacer!! anyone know where I can get one?? Has anyone found something easy off the shelf to make this spacer?? I would apprceciate some input. Thanks!!

Just noticed you have a 4025 not sure if it works on that motor.

it should do, the taper isn't any deeper on a 4025 to a 4020.

Is this something that you have to have? I thought there was a way around it? I have not started my build yet, but I do not want to run into an issue.

I was told by Bob at Rremodels just to knock the bearing out of the motor mount. I am not really happy with that answer. Any Comments on that fix??

knocking the bearing out works perfectly fine, the bearing in there is just an added bonus.
then if you wanted to down the track get the spacer. Im still running it with out the bearing.

What good is the bearing if it prevents you from installing your motor? ie, until someone makes an adapter.

There is an adapter but we are awaiting more to stock. The first run of these adapters sold out same day as the first run of kits..... which was very quick I did not realize so many would be using scorpion motors. Please be patient we are trying to fill the demand as fast as possible
But as Phil noted they are easily pushed out to run while awaiting new stock then re-installed when shim plates are available that is why it is noted in the manual as "Optional" for motor shaft support.

Mike,
The adapter is offered, HD is just temp out of them as this heli just hit the street last week, in the mean time as has been suggested you can remove the bearing and get started and install the bearing when the spacers are avail, the bearing adds stability to the end of the shaft so I would install the spacer as soon as they are back in stock,
ckoelliker,
Continue with your build it won't effect it at all, you can just leave the motor mount out until last, if the spacer is in stock by the time your ready to install the motor, Great, if not your option if you choose is to simply pop the bearing out, mount the motor and install without it, then put it in later, its not a biggy and the motor installs in the just a few minutes

Opps the boss is in here and already responding :noteworthy
That's basically what I meant....no need for the bearing until an adapter is available, so I agreed with Bobby. The bearing remains a nice feature of the heli.

All Right, that sounds fine. Yea I was told I did not have to have it, but when I read this I just thought I would double check.
I saw a lot of them fly at the Orlando event, they looked real nice. I can't wait to get it in the air.

I made mine out of 4.5mm carbon fiber on my CNC router and it works great. If anyone wants one I can make them. IMO, removing the bearing is not a good idea, it could allow the shaft to flex which will eat your main gear. Charley designed the mount with the bearing so I wanted to keep it. I am using the 4025-630 and the bolt spacing is 25mm on center and it uses a 3mm screw, could you guys check to see if the 4020 series is the same? I am almost positive that it is 25mm on center also. I will make a few and add them to our website tomorrow.

Thanks everyone for the advice! I am the kind of guy to better be safe than sorry. I will order a spacer but I will continue with my build.

I couldn't wait, so I made my own out of an old Trex motor mount

Not a problem, I am here to help any way I can. Just wanted to point out that I was tipped off about the shim situation by one of the Outrage team pilots who knew I made a shim for my Outrage 550. That says alot about the Outrage folks when they give work to another vendor when they are out of an item. What that says to everyone is "We at Outrage want the customer to be happy even if we are not the ones selling the product." A big thumbs up to the guys at Outrage.

HI Guys,
I am having some problems with the bearing support. My Scorpiion 4025 630KV's Shaft cannot go through the bearing? I measured the bearing hole and it is 4.98mm while my shaft is a tad on the bigger side of 5mm, like 5.05mm. Any of you have issues like that? I am tempted to grind away the inner brace of the bearing a bit but then again, might not be so straight forward as it will continually spin.... Hummm
