Hey All,
Just joined tonight, nice forum.
Thought I'd wet your appetite a bit about the Predator Turbine. The machine is brilliant, really does fly well with loads of power and very smooth to. You do feel the weight of the engine and the enormous fuel tank but you soon get used to it.
I was lucky enough to get the prototype one here in the UK to fly and have flown it for pleasure and at various shows. Or should I have said I made sure I got the prototype to test and fly.
Like everyone here the very thought of turbine brings a smile to your face what with the sound and the smell and I wanted to be part of the project so I made sure I got well in.
I haven't got it at the moment  WREN have taken it back to make sure the production parts match the originals. I'm hoping to get it back shortly, I am promised I will so long as I demo it during the show season.
Guess what I said?! :D [/img]

Hi,
Thank you for the welcome.
Lol, me give you ideas?! I just saw your signature, electric Predator?
I've heard a lot about one that goes like a rocket, is this your one maybe? I don't know a name unfortunately and so cannot be sure.
Any picture links/information links maybe about it?

There is some video at the link below from Kam Wyatt flying Jimmy's Electric Predator in Chattanooga last month. Hopefully he will be at the Big Electric FF at Mac's this coming weekend and I'll get some more footage. Thanks again for joining up Coolice, if you have any footage or more pics of your turbine, please share them. If you need them hosted, please PM me.

Actually, I haven’t documented version one very well. Will has a number of pictures in his gallery and there are the videos. Version two is coming up soon and I will try to document that.
Will,
I can’t make the Electric fun fly. Work is just a little too heavy right now. I hope to be back flying and building in a few weeks.

Ahh. I am sorry to hear that Jimmy. I can understand having to work though. I would be happy to post whatever documentation you have on the V2. Email away to baja170@helifreak.com
Thank you!!!

Some of the parts are on order. It takes months to get some of them. If it is finished this year I will be doing good.

Hi,
Thanks for the welcome mate.
As soon as I can I'll upload some more pictures and at the same time try to get some video up somewhere.
Again thanks for the offer of hosting stuff for me, it may come in very handy.
I'm going to check the link out as this machine sounds very interesting. I have heard good stories already so my inquisitive side is working over time.

Hey just a question regarding the electric predator: What kind of motor system/battery are you using in that heli? I've seen an E-raptor with a hacker B50XL and a lot of LI-Poly batteries, not sure what configuration though.

The current configuration is an actro 32-3 motor and 12s3p lipo with a schultze 40.70 controller. The configuration changes weekly.

Was it tricky to mount that motor or was the predator you have specifically electric?(i know very little about predators) That is something I may experiment with on my hawk sport at some time.

I had to make new carbon frames, motor mounts, and pinion assembly. It was not hard, just time consuming. Five tries latter, I almost have it right.
