Upgrades? WTH?

I just bought an N9 kit and have been reading about all these required upgrades from Hyperformance.

Do all the guys in the Synergy forums work for Hyperformance?;)

I just spent $800 on a bare kit and I need $400 worth of upgrades?:thinking

Listen, I am an intermediate pilot and years of assembly experience. Do I really need all this bling?:dontknow

I would say no. Yes they'll make the assembly easier, but its not needed.

Just finished an N9 build and have to say it went pretty smooth with the Hyperhub and Hyperdrive.

The hub went on and required no dial indicating, I checked it and it was less than .001 the first time. The start shaft needed some tweeking however.

The TT went together very easily with the Hyperdrive and is a real smooth system that seams to spin true.

Also the SE Tail hub is longer and allows the use of two radial bearings in addition to the thrust bearing.

As far as the head, I went with the full Kasama Srimok head for the N9 from GrandRC. Yet to be flown however so I can't say first hand about performance but i've heard good things about this head.

I already have a srimok head sitting on the side lines and I plan on putting a stock Vibe 50 T/R on it as well.

If something is likely to fail in flight I am happy to get the upgrade, but if it is just to make things easier I don't really need it. Chicago winters are long enough.;)
