Is it just me are do any of yall have the same problem. The problem is when my T Rex get about 20 feet up are to far away I lose orientation. Thats when it gets hairy and stand back! When I'm around 10 feet or so off the ground I have no problems even fling in 5-10 MPH wind hovering within a 10 foot square. But as soon as I get higher up I really look like crap. I have a sim and I'm alto better on the sim. Any Ideas on getting better at this. Tricks or more stick time. Just really getting aggravated. I have been trying since Dec.

Painting the canopy and fins in a bright contrasty color scheme helps a lot...

Also go get an eye exam. My father started having problems with his orientation with planks. He had an eye exam and found that he had poor depth perception.

Yep same thing happened to a good pilot at our field. After a new prescription he was good again!

I don't own a heli yet, but I've log a quite a few hours on my copy of G3. I have a tougher time hovering at the higher evelations too, or else transitioning from forward flight into a hover. I can't seem to judge how much nose up cyclic to add to stop the forward flight. It's probably a matter of practice more then anything. It's tough when the sky is all the same color, and you don't have any stationary land marks close to your line of sight to judge movement.

My biggest issue used to be late day flying, like an hour or so before sunset.
Not sure if it was the dim side-lighting or strong silhouetting shadows that made the heli really difficult to track, but with time you can even fly it through the sun and not get all shook up!
Try to make a point each flight of doing things that make you uncomfortable.
