This is one FANTASTIC event....one that I would strongly recommend that you put on your calendar. Beautiful flying field, nice area for RV's and they can almost guarantee good weather for this one. And, the chow and other events are superb. John runs a tight ship, but everyone has a great time.

I gotta' tell you, if you want to experience southern hospitality at its finest, I can't think of any event that is better than the Blacksheep event. So much so, that Sherry and I are considering moving down into the Greenville/Anderson area....one of the best kept secrets on the planet.

Will,
I really think you "understate" your field...and the facilities are pretty cool as well...as long as Henry isn't carrying around a GD 2x4. Close to town so those runs to get generator gas or Mickey D's don't take forever either....and a ton of room for RV's and trailers.

hehehe, I'll be a regular there for the next 6 months practicing the smack for a head to head against H to the C!
Who wants to buddy-box me? :D

Wayne,
This "H to the C" prick is a monster looking for a heart attack to cause. Two springs ago, we are down for an impromptu event at the "sheep," and it was raining like crazy on the first day (Friday). I made the mistake of falling asleep on one of the couches in the metal-covered lounge after having driven all night. The "H to the C" monster took advantage of the situation and, made a target of the metal building side with a 2X4 just about where I had my head nestled agains the wall. Didn't even bother to clean my shorts....after I got my heart started again, I just threw them away. If you are going to fall asleep anywhere at the "sheep," make sure you have good weather, the "H to the C" monster is either flying or not around and, just in case, post a watch.
 :D

Ah...You got caught without the defensive air horn..
You always gotta have a good comeback.
We've also found that the small firecrackers work good on HC as a means to exact retribution, but it's always hard to catch him unaware...
Hmm, just hadda idea, paperclips and rubberbands.. hehehe

Hey Wayne,
We've been using the air horns at home on telemarketers....as in, "hello, who is this? Oh, you are trying to sell refrigerators and you think we might be Eskimo's?"....BLAHHHHHHHHHHHH. So far, it has worked better than the "do not call" registry our wonderful, beauracratic, lazy-a$$hole infected (before you take a shot, I work for the government too...and, try getting workman's comp pay out of the a$$holes for a work-related injury) government came up with....so, Wayne, it might work on the "H to the C" monster. However, I somehow doubt it, but the paperclips and industrial strength rubber bands might work.

Hehehe, I got an apartment 10 miles away!
I'm sure I'll have floor space for the financially impaired, just bring a sleeping bag or cot.
The Hobby shop is close too! *Evil Grin*

Wayne,
Sherry and I got smart and bought a "toybox (combination heli hauler and living quarters) trailer last year. In fact, we bought it in September and last year's event was the only one it has been to so far. Still not much protection from Henry, but it works better. I was the one spotting for Pat Yim last year when Pat's Raptor ate the foamy Henry was flying (belonged to Eric). I also had the dubious honor of being the one spotting for Alderman when he dumped the Bergen 90 into the trees (moral of this story is you don't want me spotting for you). Come to think about it, I was also spotting for Beast when he ate his Tempest last year...damn!...I am starting to scare myself.

LOL
Foamy vs Raptor was a classic MESS..
can you say confetti?

Wayne,
I was still picking foam out of my clothes after we got home...just glad the freaking battery went the other direction and, other than Pat's blades cotacting the battery, it might have been survivable for the Rappy...but when those NHP's hit the battery, it was all over.
