Hi I am new to electric helis, and I am trying to use my Airtronics RD8000.
Here is kinda a run down of things I am using and a whats going on?
I have carefully set up a new Trex 450 SE from Modefo's (cool to).
With it came the Align 450 motor. With a RCE BL35G speed control.
I put on it a Futaba G190 Gyro. With JR's micro servos. With a Lipo pack of Aligns with 2100 ma at 11.1 volts. With a cooling fin pack on the motor.
Heres my Question?
With using the RD8000 and a 8 channel Airtronics #92778 72mz fm recever. I am trying to program the transmiter for a heli with what it calls a CP3B setting. After balancing the blades both off and on, using a test board I made up. I finally have it to where there is no vibration at all.
I thought I had all the programing in for the pitch and such? Using the settings from the book to change the SWH settings.
On the test board it showed good left and right, with good front and back movements. But, no pitch, in the throttle was evident. It did not want to lift at all. It seemed all three of the servos wanted to raise just a bit as the throttle was increased? Also when slowly giving throttle it Jerks just enough some times to tilt one of the blades off straight? Is there some one that might know how to program a Airtronics TX for a Trex heli?

Wish I could help man, but I am a JR man.
If you had a JR i could tell you exactly how to fix your problem.

I am running the RD8000 with a hitec electron6 rx in my SE (see my gallery). Here is my complete setup as shown in my gallery and all the settings in my TX. I hope you find this helpful. :fly

ELE REV-NOR EPA +/-115
AIL REV-NOR EPA +/-115
TH REV-NOR EPA +/-100
RU REV-REV EPA +/-100 FOR HH SET RV PTS TO 0
G REV-NOR GYR +50/-40 for all flight modes
P-F REV-REV EPA +/-125 (this and servo arm length controls your
collective range)
ETC SW-R-NOR SWH-CP3B

I am running both p-mixes with master set to pitch and slave set to elevator for one and aileron for one. This allows me to dial out any servo throw variation while the swashplate is moving up and down to keep it perfectly level +/- collective. The RD8000 doesn't let you drive the endpoints of the servos independently, it drives endpoints of a function like total throw of an aileron command but that moves 2 servos, so you have to use a p-mix to keep them lined up if one servo moves a little more than another one for collective.
Also, with the transmitter laying face up in front of you, this puts all switches forwards and down for Normal mode/HH; pull the 2-position switch up for throttle hold; pull the 3-position switch up - middle position is ID1, all the way up is ID2; Gyro mode is controlled by the Gyro switch only now.

Throttle curves are:
Normal 0,40,80,90,100
ID1,2 100,90,80,90,100
Hold(3)0,0,0,0,0

Pitch curves are:
Normal 40,45,50,75,100
ID1,2 0,25,50,75,100
Hold(3)40,45,50,75,100

This provides a 3/4 stick hover setup and no change when switching from normal to id1 during a hover.
You will have to play with CNT on ELE,AIL,P-F to get the servo horns set at 90 deg, but it changes from servo to servo so my numbers are meaningless for that.
I'm using a Hitec Electron RX with the following servo assignments.
ch1 - rear ccpm servo
ch2 - rh ccpm servo
ch3 - ESC
ch4 - gyro rudder lead
ch5 - gyro gain lead
ch6 - lh ccpm servo

Okay, Okay, my fingers are cramping now lol, but I hope this helps.

Thank you
I was getting close to what you have. With what I have been working up to so far. Your throttle and pich curves are much better settings. I was not that close yet. I changed some other settings to match yours and now getting a better setup now. I put it on a setup board I made, and now I think I am ready to try it out. It seems much calmer in throttle up with better lift than I got so far. I did have the pitch throw reversed at first.. Just a bit of tail glitch yet but I think its gain setting might be too high? It seems to be hunting after a turn comand? With the better weather I been playing with my planes to keep busy. Mabe now if the weather is better tomarrow i will take it with me to the field. hope the cramping lets up with my smile :D :noteworthy
Thank You Thank you
