I have never seen any instruction about that. But, you can do this:

For the needle adjustement, close it completely, after, open it for 2 1/2 turn. This is almost the default place to start your engine and start to fine tune.

For the Mixture valve( idle adjustement ), close it completely and open it at 1/2 of his total of course.

Start you engine and begin to ajust it at your best!!!

Look also this manual of OS Engines. It's explain well how to tune the mixture at the page 12.

Hope this will help you...

The manual does not tell you the factory position and the OS manual is not going to help. There is a sure fire way to set a TT carb and it will run great with no modding of the needle.

You have to turn the mixture screw out to the fatory 3 turns from closed. Close the card and turn the idle screw all the way closed. If the carb is not closed you will turn it in to far and the carb will not close. After you have done stick a 2.5 mm hex wrench in the carb and close it. The hex key has the carb open just as it would be at idle.

Now take a piece of hose and put it on the fuel nipple and blow in it. No air will pass at the point. Start turing open the idle screw until you hear and feel aie passing through the carb. Go about one full turn past when you first can blow air though. the carb.

Mine ran strong and cool at with these setting... turn the mixture screw close, close the carb then turn in the idle screw. Now ture the idle screw out 5 turns and then turn the mixture screw out 2.5. I run CP 30% so this will be rich for lower nitro.

Once you get it running. A temp of 100 - 120 on the back plate is a good sign of a good idle setting and like 170-200 on the neck with a temp gun is a good mixture setting. The head cools off to fast from the fan to get a good reading.

I hope this helps.
