Greetings all...

I purchased a 9303 about 3 or 4 months ago and got the air version. I have many planes so this wasn't a big deal at the time. Now I have bought a Raptor to learn on and I am trying to setup the radio for a more heli-friendly feel. I have the basic programming down no problem, but I am having a hard time getting the ratcheting out of the throttle. If I loosen the retaining clip to try and get a smooth throttle it just feels too light on the controls...i.e. there is very little resistance in the throttle movement. I have heard of folks removing this clip all together, but is there a way to increase the resistance in the throttle stick?

Thanks!

JR sells a smooth ratchet to replace the air version. The part number is JRPA636. Your local hobby shop should beable to get it for you or you can order it direct from Horizon Hobby.

Don't know if it will work on the 9303. But on the Futaba 8U's , 9C's. I have just took the ratchet mechanism off and then reinstalled it turned over to its original position. That allows smooth movement of the stick without the ratchet feel.
Might try it on the 9303 and see if it will work.

I tried it, and you could still feel the ratchet. It was bad enough that hovering always seemed to be between the high and low points on the teeth.
I took mine apart and made a jig for the radius part that has the teeth and filed them off. Problem is the tab is now too loose to have much effect on the radius, and the stick will fall down..
I'll be lookin ginto that part number and replacing mine, thank for the heads-up on that!

Thanks for the heads up on the part and #...that looks to be the ticket. I checked the Horizon site and it says due in late June, so I will check with the LHS and see what they have/can get.

As an aside, I really like the radio. I did a hardcore evaluation on the Futaba and JR radios before deciding on the 9303. One wasn't superior to the other but the feel and programming on the 9303 just seemed easier and better. It helped that all the receivers I had were JR too. My only complaint is this throttle ratchet thing...
