I think it is very important that we do not advertise this site on RR-- it looks sleezy. Lets just get the word out privately. If it is a good informative site the rest will come.

too late someone already has 2 threads (under name Anonymus (sp?)) linking here up, but don't worry they will probably already be deleted :(

I agree Shannon.
If anybody does post this site, please be sure to say that everybody is welcomed. We are here because of this great hobby. It is all about the fun.
Rock on everybody. Thanks very much for the support. Tis is YOUR place, Enjoy! :D
*Edit: Even those (2) who demanded to be deleted are welcome back.

Just have some common sense about it. In a year, this forum should be off to a good start. Like all forums, it takes time.
Its nice to have another place to go.

If there is no advertising, how is the site supported? I mean bandwidth and hosting cost money...
I guess what I'm getting at is, how do the owners of this site plan to keep it active once the "newness" wears off and they discover how much work it is?
I'm just asking

Advertising may come in time, and advertising is OK. I think the problem starts when the admin. goes nuts over what he considers advertising.
But I think with the resources behind this site, it will be OK for a while. :D
Good content will bring the members, which will bring the advertisers. You just don't let the advertisers run the forum- thaey get what they paid for- ad space, not admin. rights.

That is a legitimate question BimmerM3. Shannon already did a good job answering it but I will att a few cents worth.:)
I have been in the Internet Hosting business for a number of years. Right now I have half a rack at the Co-Lo and I am prepared to make whatever upgrades are necessary to cover the bandwidth. We may at some time in the future take money for advertizing, but at this point everything is free and easy and we don't need the $$. It is all about the hobby and having fun, so enjoy yourselves!! :D We are a group of flyers that want to provide a QUALITY place for people to colaberate. That is it.
Thank you for coming over and helping make this place great!!

Fair enough, guys! :D
For whatever it's worth, you have my support. I used to own an ISP and have a good idea of what it takes to run something like this. My hat is off to you guys for making the effort!
