View Full Version : noobie from downunder
Gidday all
I am now a proud owner of a 14mz
having moved over from a Jr9x and I am also doing a mode conversion
from Mode 1 to Mode 2
Just one question for now ( there will many more to come :D )
On my JR radio the idle up switch was on the right hand side
but have noticed on futaba radio's the idle up switch is on the right hand
side
Is there a standard where everyone puts there Idleup and throttlehold switch as I would like to have mine setup the same as everyone else

So, are you really "hung from downunder"??? :noteworthy :banana :banana :banana :banana :banana :banana
Personal taste really, but the 14MZ will let you place switches where you want them. Idle switch for me are on SE/SF, with hold and t-cut on SG/SH.
yep Hung is my real name
And I am fron Sydney ,, Australia

Hung,
Most of the heli radios here in the USA. The idle up switch is on the top left corner. Throttle hold is on the top right corner. Unless it is an Airplane version of the transmitter. Then the idle up is on the right and throttle hold usually on the left.
Now if your going to change the 14MZ from mode 1 to mode 2. You will need to send the transmitter into a service center to have the sticks recalibrated. There is more to a mode change than just moving the stops and springs on the sticks.
If you change from mode 1 to mode 2. Then the elevator stick on the right side is not going to have as much electronic travel as needed. And the throttle stick on the left will only have about 90% travel when the stops are installed.

Thanks DavidH
I bought my transmitter as mode 2 so everything is calibrated
:D :D
all I need now is time to do my transition from mode 1 to mode 2 on the sim
and I figured it will take me a few months and in the mean time it will
give me a chance to figure out how to use the 14MZ cos it is nothing like
my 9X :arggg:
