So has the aileron gimbal issue been resolved yet, or is it an unrealistic expectation to buy a new radio and not have to tear into it, or send it off to get it fixed correctly without voiding the warranty? Seems there are a few different fixes, the one on their website, which causes some to chaff somewhere else, and the method that the service center uses that seems to involve some soldering, which ends up being a good fix, but not one we can do without voiding said warranty.
So the question is, does one risk getting a non fixed 9303 and getting it fixed, or simply get a DX7 and call it a day?

I just bought a X9303 from the secondary market that had never been used. When I opened the back to inspect the wiring, I saw that it had already been modified according to the Horizon website. The serial number of my radio begins with 0953, but I have no idea where in the manufacturing process these changes were incorporated.

I got mine two weeks ago from Esprit Model, and it was already fixed.

Mine was fixed and I got it a couple months ago. I always have to tear into the back of mine to fiddle with the gimbal tension anyway. Until they give us a way to adjust the tension from the outside...I will always have to open mine up first thing. I like it really loose.

Basically, since you have no idea how long the radio sat on shelves, you should pull the back off and check it.

It's a Battletech-style fuselage I built for my Lama V3 - but yes, I did look at a lot of pictures of the ED-209 when designing the legs.
