Did they quit making them?
I love the one I have. It rocks.

Well since everyone is switching to Macs there is no market :P
Apple has the USB Mighty Mouse that I like a lot. (http://www.apple.com/mightymouse/) Now standard on all macs.

Dog thats the wrong one, the one I need has the ball at the front on top, since they are not making them anymore the ones on ebay are going anywhere from $80 to $150.
Oh..... you are one of the finger types, I like the thumb ball.
You probably pinch teh sticks too.
I think the thing I like most about the one in ebay is the 5 buttons. I like not having to point and click to go forward and back.

yeh I couldn't get used to the thumb ball, mine has four buttons and a scroll wheel I use click, double click, right click and back. I wish I had bought ten of the things when I got this one.

I don't have this one yet but I've had both the previous versions and after using one you'll never go back: http://www.r4nt.com/v5/article/124/
My current trackball the expert mouse 5 fits an 8-ball perfectly! Far more precise than a mouse and way more accurate for gaming!

RSL_Mongoose...I have three of these at an office in LakeCharles, LA. Are you by any chance going to MayDay? I will be going next Wednesday and will pick them up if you want all three. I don't remember how much I paid for them, but probably got a good deal so I'll pass it on to you.
I'll sell you all three for $80.00 plus shipping or I can bring them to MayDay if you are going or know someone going.

I am not planning on goiing to MayDay, so they would need to be shipped and if you had rather not sell just two I can take all three if they are in fair condition, if its possible I would like to see a pic.

I have one of these things and never will plug it in again, (no scroll wheel), they have that awkward ring thing around the ball.

I sure hate to hear that they are no longer available. I have one at home and it is the best trackball I have ever used.
Trackballs in general are hard to find in any computer stores these days. Seems like they just did not make the big time. Most people just never got hooked on them. After I tried my first one, I was hooked for life. For me it is a simple matter of real estate. I don't have enough desktop space to waste on moving a mouse around.

Yeh thats the first place I looked, all those are nice but not quite up to Explorer standards. And I finally got one I had to pay for it but I got a brand new one off ebay.

Goose,
That is the same one that I am using right now and it is the best one I have used. I have had Logitech models in the past and they worked fine, just not as comfortable as the Microsoft one. I hope mine lives for a long time so I don't find myself in the same boat as you.

Well I've had mine for 6 years now and other than the little steel balls that the trackball rides on having flat spots it works fine. I did pry them out and turn them over about 6 months ago but I just want a new one. I had to go high to get the one I got on ebay and I am bidding on another one right now.
