Are you using the Gyro sens menu? If so, then you HAVE to go to GYRO SENS to adjust gain.
I tried it all, got confused and INH the gyro Sens crap, and simply use CH5.

Yes i am using the Gyro sens i think what happens is when you set it up it eliminates the AUX2 settings and any changes have to be made to the rudder setting, i could be wrong though

Rudder ATV only controls the speed of the turn, or more correctly: piroette
If you Enabled the gyro sens sub menu, you will have to use the gyro sens settings to adjust the gain.

i just switch from futaba to jr. i got my 401 setup using ch5. what will be a good start setting for the gain on the 9303. on my 9c it was set at 65% hh & norm.

I generally start at about 65% or so. That seems to be pretty typical across transmitter brands.
