Hi. Happy 2009!

I'm building a new heli I got for xmas. I've just ordered a new x9303 to go with it, but it'll be awhile with free ground shipping. 8^(

Question: It is ok to start working on the mechanical setup of my servos, arms, links etc. while I wait? In other words, assuming everything is properly centered in the radios, is a servo's mechanical center the same regardless of the radio? I just want to get the arms centered and build some links, no radio setup yet.

I would wait. It may be close or it may not. You may do a lot of work getting everything just right only to find out it is not even close.

build everything else and leave the headsetup at the end.

Yeah, no point in doing something I'll regret. There's enough else to keep me busy I reckon.

I assume you have a TX with which to center now? While each TX will be slightly different, they should be within subtrim-able range of each other.

I have changed TXs on helis multiple times. NEVER had to repeat mechanical setup (or even move an arm a full spline). ALWAYS had to use slightly different subtrim... but only slightly...

2 DX7's, and a 9303 and never had to change anything (except a couple of points of sub...)
