Hoping to have the 90 by mid month, anything else I need other than a new fan, the 90SE fan shroud and the HD clutch upgrade? (Do I need the HD clutch and bell upgrade? I notice the fury clutch is no bigger than an R60 stock clutch... )

I'll stretch the boom eventually for larger mains and tail rotor blades, but that's not the plan initially.

what engine you going with... a YS 91 will fit in the Raptor 60's fanshroud without modification.

David is correct. The YS 91 is a perfect fit. I would go with the larger clutch, not because it's larger but because I think the metal in the clutch is better. As you can probably remember, the R30/50 V1 clutch had a very short service life unless it was very carefully installed. The V2 clutch has been much better. Although the 60 clutch wasn't as bad as the 30/50 it still had a rather short life. Other than the cost, the only down side to installing the 90 clutch/bell is that you will have to enlarge the hole that the bell fits into and that's only a 10 minute job with a Dremel.

What hole do you have to enlarge? I put the 90 clutch bell , 3d 90 clutch and liner in my 70 and didn't enlarge anything. Did I do something wrong?

It's the hole in the fan casing. I have just about the first R60 (converted to a 90) off the boat and TT may have well modified them since I got mine. It was either take the fan casing apart or enlarge the hole. I opted to go the easy way and enlarged the hole.

OH O.K. they fixed that then.Mine went in with no problem. I think now though the parts you get for the 60 like fan casing gear etc.. are one in the same for the 90. I bought a new case and gear and they had bigger screw holes to mount to each other than the older ones I replaced. Well a crash made me replace.

Not sure on the engine I'll know when/if it arrives, suspecting OS C-spec w/pump (if one doesn't show up wrapped in birthday paper I'm buying a YS. If one does show up, then I'm buying a YS anyways for the second R60 :D )

That sounds like a good plan

You will need the larger clutch bell and the 90 HD blue clutch liners if you go up to the 90 sized clutch. (Liner does not come pre-mounted in 90 clutch bell like it does on the R60 bells)

I would recommend the QUK 90 clutch as it lasts a heck of a lot longer than the TT 90 clutch. The QUK seems to be a lot better material or design or both. I have broken 2 TT 90 clutches after a few gallons. I bolted on the QUK 90 clutch, and have been running it for a long time with no problems at all. If you get the OS C-SPEC PS, you will need the R90 STD fanshroud PV0412 and if your planning to put on the longer 90STD boom you will probably want the r90 STD radio tray PV0413 just to offset the extra weight on the tail. R60-90 are tail heavy as you already know.

Thanks for the tips guys, I'm working up a list over here. I'm also planning on changing the pinion/main gears to the 11:91(8.27) gear ratio recommend by you guys in an earlier post on the subject.

So far I have been very happy with 8.27 and the C-SPEC PS/MP2 Combo. It is a rocket if tuned correctly and autos like a dream. :) I have also tried 8.45 and I prefer the 8.27.

Good luck with your upgrades. :D

Does the YS 91 like the 8:45, and do the gears mesh up if you just change the pinion to an 11 tooth?

I have heard YS91's do like 8:45, but I have not run 8:45 since my YS-80 in a R60.

You can just change the pinion to 11 tooth to go 8:45. Yes
