View Full Version : TRex 600 = good news for 12s Ion-X :)

I think the launch of the TRex 600 (spec'd for 4200 6S packs) should be good news for those of us with 12s Ion setups in mind.

If the 600 proves to bee as popular as the 450 series then there should be an explosion (no pun intended :)) of 6S battery packs on the market, and hopefully a decent price drop due to competition making 12s for the Ion an even more attractive option.

So, from my shabby (gut) calcs around a Neu / CC HV-110 setup a workable config would seem to be...
- 58T double gear for about 1990 on the head
- 4200mah 15c or better 6S x2 packs for about 6 - 7 min of flight
- ready to fly weight 10.5lbs or lighter

Does this sound realistic?

No, 6s is underpowered for 50 size bird. I guess the 600 won't get popular for 3Ders with their setup.

Yes but I think the T600 won't be flown with 6s much, only for beginners.

I think Tronic cells might show to be the best good news for us with 12S setupīs this year, have some 40 flights on my Joker 2 now with 12S, and they are still holding up very good, need to pass 100 cycles before I for sure can say they are good. So to be sure, wait some few more months until I have flown these cycles on some Tronic batteries.

Also have Tronic 12S on my Ion-X, 11S and 10S now on my Xero-G with a bit more power than my 10S 4000ma TP battery.

So if they hold in the long term, still to be confirmed later this year, even that they are just a little heavy these cells might show to be the best buy and best news when one can get them direct from the factory at under half price of other known brands. :glasses2:

PS. I am not a Tronic dealer, just a normal heli pilot who share my test results for free :D

Bobby, what did you find to be the weak link? motor / ESC or drivetrain?

I value your experience here 'cause I don't think I'll be able to resist trying this :).

Rob On 12s the motor plate was flexing doing hard maneuvers and it was eating up the secondarys . Since then i talked to Chris and he started making thicker motor plates same thicknes as the Stratus bottom plate. I havent tried wiht the new motor plate i also thiink that is why i was breaking belts wiht the 32-3 on 12s.

I havent messed up a single secondary wiht the new motor plate on 10s

After the MHA event i will be testing again hopefully have a 12s machine that is rocking for Ircha
