Is it the clipped style spindle? What machine is it going on?

Strange. I am replacing mine to but I already have one in my spare parts and it is SS in color. Maybe its one that they did not polish after the heat treat process. David H would know. :noteworthy Call MA monday morning and ask them.

This is the right bar if it's for the Stratus or the Extreme. The spindle for the Tempest has no clips. I have been polishing these on my Stratus helis. The Tempest spindles are probably a different grade bar but I'm not sure which one.

I just built a new Ion and it came with the black color one. Looks to be a different heat treat perhaps.

That is the correct spindle. MA changed the process a few months ago. They are now black looking instead of shiny. No one sees the spindle when it is inside the head block. <G> So long as it works color doesn't matter.

Two parts are being changed to this material - the blade axle and the t/r hub. There is nothing dimensionally different about them. The grade of material has strength characteristics very similar to titanium, but without the cost.
