I have a Hyperion charger, and I'm wondering if I can use it to charge the little batteries for the mcx. for my 2cell and 3 cell ones it needs the balance connector and the deans plugged into it, but theres no such thing, would I rig a connection from the deans' banana plug ports to the battery and forget the balance tab?

Heres a solution, these batts. essentially charge thru the balance tab. Wired in parallel and charge as many as your charger can handle, Amps wise.

among my chargers I have a Hyperion 5i which can charge a 1s lipo as low as 100mah all I would need is the adapter for the Eflite battery (which they have at Red Rocket Hobbies) and you would be good to go. with the 1s pack you wont need a balancer

Ive got an Onyx 230 that costed me around 80 at the LHS. but I use it mostly for the 3cell 2000+ mAH li-po's. made a quick adapter to charge the ones for the mcx.
out of curiosity what current charge do you guys use to charge them? I've got mine set at 0.10 Amps but that takes nearly 40 min for a full charge. think 0.2 or .03 amps would work better or would I fry the li-po's?
expect to pay at least $100 for a good charger, the stock MCX charger charges @ 300 ma

Do you have a link to Red Rocket Hobbies. I've searched high & low for a plug to fit the MCX batt with no luck.

Google pkz3052 or click here (http://www.google.com/search?q=pkz3052&ie) for the connector.
If you are buying a good charger, check out parallel charging as demonstrated by NotEnoughTime.

If you ever plan to get a bigger heli than the mCX, get a good charger capable of delivering enough amps to charge larger packs in parallel also. I highly recommend this one.

Charging 1 pack at a time is agonizing:

heh heh nice.. lets see.. thats 8 minutes a flight times 8 batteries.. 64 straight minutes of flying the MCX not including bathroom breaks and such.. I'm not too sure whats more agonizing..

The 8 packs is so (2) mCX's can fly non-stop, no waiting for charging cycles to complete.
Just charge 4 at a time as they run out, and 2 people never never have to wait.

These batteries are designed to be charged @ 300mA or .3A per batt. If you wire and charge in parallel like myself and GrennBaron are doing, you just multiply the Amperage by the number of batts and that gives you the amps you charge at. I charge 6 at a time so I charge 1s @ 1.80A. Charging 8 at a time would be 1s @ 2.40A. You just keep adding .3A per battery. This is all done in parallel and NOT SERIES. Heres a good post about this subject from GreenBaron

ah, thanks :) that makes it easier. I'll have to dig out the old bread board and pick up a few female connectors for it.

I emailed EFlight, honestly told them how much I love the little heli, and politely suggested a cheap and simple wall charger for the MCX as an upgrade purchase. If more people emailed them, who knows. . .
