The swash detail screen on my 12Z does not work properly.
When using linkage compensation it will not work on both sides of the pitch range like it should. I have checked this compared to the 14mz.
I have loaded the latest updates and still will not work. Is there a cure for this. Everyone that I have asked does not use this option, why anyone would pay that price and not use it for what it should do I dont know.
I know the updated 14 system works as we checked it at the Mayday event by loading my heli program into his 14Mz and checking the movments of swash while using the linkage compensation in his 14mz, his name was Robert ?. Does anyone have any info on this matter or should I just call futaba?

I don't have a 12 or 14. So I don't have any idea of what problem your having. I did play with a 12 Z for about 45 mins at the Toledo Show last month.

I am working with futaba with my radio issues. I have to get a CF card so I can email them my program, so they can see whats going on with it.

I am curious though if either of you is running the new update that was released on teh 10th?

The update was released on Futaba's Flyers Club (download section). If you don't have access, you can find it at my site http://www.rcfan.com/radios.html (there's a readme inside with what changed).

You right there White Chococlate. I have the same problem it is the low.
High works great. But low does nothing. Is there a cure for this problem? I will see you at MHA event.

I know my heli setup is good cause it worked in the 14mz just fine. I dont understand why futaba wants me to send them my program? But i still cant do that as I do not have CF card and my CF crad reader in my comp is is inop. :( :(

Hi Guys, well I played with this a bit. I finally got the file transfer to work right after I formatted my memory card. The linkage menu looks to work fine for me. On the Low pitch side all looks normal. I have it setup on one of my stratus models. Make sure you are in idle up and then apply full negative. Next apply full right cyclic and no elevator. Adjust the # in the upper rigth block labeled Aileron. Mine are +.
The larger the #'s in your swash AFR screen the more change you will see in the linkage menu. My swash is 63% 63% Ail/Ele 66% on pitch.
I might be missing something here, but it looks to work normal to me.
Remember also the compensation will only work to the extent of the electronic servo limits and it does depend quite a bit on your radio setup.

Still no go there Erice. I dont think it is a over driven servo problem since Will and me both seem to have the same problem on 2 differant brands of helicopters. I feel it is a programing issue but hey it wouldnt be the first time Im wrong. As stated before I loaded mine right into a 14MZ from card and it worked fine. Robert ( the guy who lent me the use of his 14MZ) if you are reading this please feel free the chime in.

Don't know? I just uploaded and installed the latest update and tried it again to be sure. Seems to work ok. There is not a lot of adjustment there, but it does work and move the servo. I know on one of my models with my 14MZ one direction does not appear to work, but I know it is just a limit.
Here is one thing.
In the 14MZ what are the ATV limits set to? Are they the same in the 12z? If you are using 135% you may not see the detail do much of anything. If they are 155% you should see more movement.
The programing for the radio is in the update. As long as the same update is loaded, they should work the same.

White chocolate,
Try this method and see if when making adjustments you see the link compensation working both sides.
Alternative Method for adjusting Link Compensation: At mid stick give full right roll and note angle of swashplate relative to the main shaft then move to min and max pitch and set Link Compensation Low and High Ail so the swashplate stays at a constant angle toward the end points. Adjust +- value if needed. Do the same for Elevator.
I say toward the end points as a high value, say 30 or 50 will not have an affect and could cause the swash angle to reverse. It will look like the angle changes a lot toward min and and max pitch as you move collective. The reason the angle changes in the swashplate is due to the round servo wheels and the less movement (relative to the rod link) you have the further the servo moves towards its end point. Set max ATV throws to 155 for ccpm servos as Eric suggests.

I guess there only 2 Freaks using this program in the 12Z. Any body that has one the works besides Eric ( which I would like to see when we meet again).Feel free and give me a call before I burn this 1300 dollar paper weight.

I am sure it is in the setup somewhere. I tried mine on a few different models and the compensation appears to work fine. I really don't need much of anything for my setups, so normally I don't even take the time to work though the menu. If I do, the ends get a bit more true but I don't think it is that much of a big deal for 3D flying at least IMO.
Rodney, is there anything else that is not working with your radio? I will be happy to help you out at an event when I see you. I would not let that menu bother you much as you may or may not even notice the difference in the air. The change is pretty minor as long as the linkages are setup true and the ratio's are right. I normally don't even set up the menu unless I am having problems with something.
Hope we get it figured out. I have seen mine not work in my 14 but it was due to other issues with my setup. This may or may not have anything to do with that.
