Hello all . I'll buy a Raptor in this week . But I couldn't decide which Raptor should I choose . Which one do you advice me ? Raptor 50 V2 SE or Raptor 50 Titan. ? I'm a new beginner . Thanks

The cheapest one. As a beginner... it does not matter unless you are a QUICK learner.

I hope you have finished you simulator training

I have an experience from my Kyosho EP Caliber M24 helicopter . But I'm a beginner for nitro helicopter . Also I have Real Flight G3 with Add-Ons 3 which includes Raptor in it :) .

Heck go for the Titan then. I would guess they are going to phase out the V2 soon (not that parts will not be available for a long time yet).

Parts are the same between the two heli's. The titan has a rear servo mount and a longer tale boom for running bigger blades. The raptor 50se has a metal rotor hub and metal washout. Otherwise alot of the parts are interchangable or you can upgrade to them.

I heard the Raptor 50v2 is not being sold by ace nomore, just the Titan and SE.

Can I upgrade rear servo mount , longer tale boom and push pull system later ?

Sure. I have a rear tail servo mount, I'm just not using it right now (I'm lazy)

I saw the the longer boom and servo mounts at Heliproz. Only-raptors site has a kit to convert 50v2 to a Titan, I am not sure what is all included. Look at the manual pdf that are at the Ace site to figure out what parts are needed for converting your heli.

That is one of the nice things about the Raptors, the heli might not be the best heli but there is alot of parts out there and it is not hard to convert some of the other kits to the newer models if you spend some time looking.

Just convert when the older parts wear out or you get into a crash, God forbid

I would say to get the SE. That comes with the most commonly needed upgrades, such as the metal head block. If you really want to move to the Titan specs, all you need are the longer boom/belt, tail mounted servo, and pull-pull collective. None of those are truly necessary though.

Can you avoid using the rear servo mount and mount it in front?

That is what I'm thinking Greenmeanie. I much prefer the tail servo in the front servo frame and out of harm and oil's way myself. Never ran rear mounted servos in a glow machine more than once and I learned I liked them better up front.

Sure, you can run it up front. I have rear mounts on two of my birds but I'm not using them yet. Will is correct, less exhaust up front. The linkage holding the arm together makes me nervous though.

The Titan uses the rudder servo bay for the push pull collective setup.

I prefer my servo up front as well so while the gearing change might be nice I'll be hanging on to my V2

I went the SE route. It is cheaper to go from the SE to the Titan upgrade by upgrading the boom and belt. The extra bling on the SE would cost you more to upgrade. Oh, I've mounted my tail servo on the boom with a century universal tail boom and linkage rod. I like this setup as it's much like my T-Rex.

Me too! It's a nice touch.

If I had to start again, I get the Titan over SE. I have an SE but the Titan parts will cost me $90 to get there. The only nice thing about the SE is the metal which after reading the reviews and seeing the Kasama head, it's going to be a hot upgrade for R50 owner.

So, get the Titan, and add the Kasama head afterwards.
