Mine is currently very static :) Please post your setup as well so we can have a better judge of setups please.

I'm flying mine tomorrow. Been to cold here. Hopefully I'll get the ESC adjusted out.

So far 6 flights on mine I'm still tuning the gyro- I might get a spartan later. I like the fast roll and flip rate. My pitch settings are + 12/-12

swash mix setting are: aile: -52%, Elev: 52%, pitch: -74%
HS: 2190-2200 rpm
Head settings: intermediate settings(for now)
blades: Gohbee Cf 550mm
inolab DS 760 MGX3 for cyclics
ltg 2100t gyro with 9254 servo
scorpion 4020-1390 motor on 11T
running on 6S
I have to lengthen my Tx sticks a bit so I can do a stable hover but I never had cyclic servos this fast before. Still using stock TR blades-everything stock G10 kit.

What are exactly the intermediate settings vs. the advanced settings. I followed the instructions and if I remember correctly any area that had two choices I used the more advanced setting. If it had three choices, IE the upper mixing arm and the blade grips, I put them in the middle. If I started to fool around with those two which should I move first? Or is it just trial and error?

My 6S setup CC firmware 2.00 beta on HV85 castlelink 3.12
vehicle type:helicopter
throttle type:governor mode
governor high
governor gain:medium
initial spool-up:medium
head speed change rate:medium
This setup gives me 5:45 flight time on a 6000 outrage pack
putting 4800 on average. Motor is scorpion 1110 with a 14 tooth
pinion throttle curve 70% headspeed 2400 pitch +12 -12 SAB red devils.
Advanced head setup
CY 393 studz paddles
Futaba 12FG swash setting
aileron 46%
elevator 44%
pitch 42%
Futaba BLS451 servos

Right now I can't ask this heli to do anything better easy to fly hard easy to follow in the sky and power that my
90 only comes close too.

Changing ratios is great it really lets you get the heli were you want it. You have so many possibilities with the head design.
Yes you will need to do your own testing for anything outside the manual. then you can record your setting and rod measurements give a little flight data and maybe someone else would like to try your setting.

I had so much fun today flying my Outrage 550. I simply love it and want a second one for my fleet.:woohoo

6s on this heli is excellent! Better than than what I originally thought it was going to be. For those of you wondering if 6s is going to be enough..... it is more than enough and I think you will be very happy.

I'm glad to see Charley ask this very question.

I had my mind almost made up on a Logo 500 when all the excitement for this heli started. I as well would like to know how you would describe it's flight characteristics and how it compares to the Logo 500 (if you've flown one). So far I've had one peson tell me they fly similarly but the Outrage is more "bang for the buck".

I'd still like to hear many more opinions before I make my decision so keep them coming.

I have also read a few reports about parts fit/quality so I'm hoping any of those issues will be taken care of ASAP.

My primary goal is to have a 6s powered heli that is lighter than my 7.9lb E550 Raptor with the agility to flip on a dime.

THANKS!!!

Talk to OIC(same random series of numbers), he has a Logo everything and is working on an Outrage 550. Next time he is on the chatroom ill get him to pipe up his opinion here for you.

I've owned a Logo 6003D for a whole year and being it's nearly the same as a Logo 500 I feel I have some say.

The Logo is a nice heli with very few parts, it flies great and the herringbone main gear is quiet and cool looking.

Now the pitfalls. The parts are extremely expensive and it crashes like it's made out of paper. I had to rekit more times than I care to remember. I had a lot of problems with mine that Mikado never would take care of for me. Swash was a POS and the balls would break off way to easy if you over-tightened them the slightest amount. The pinions kept separating in flight causing several striped main gears. I wouldn't mind all this so much if Mikado would have gave me new parts. What I'm getting at was I was disappointed in the lack of customer care. These problems have been fixed since then, but leaving me holding the bag sucked and cost me a lot of money. Maybe if I had pressed the issues they would have helped out, but when they are notified and don't act.... please. I don't think the product is bad, but the customer service is or was and it's to much money for the plastic replacement parts imho.

Outrage RC has some of the very best customer service in the business. I've watched them step up to the plate time and time again to take care of a customer that had a mishap. There simply isn't many companies that would admit their are a few small bugs and be willing to take care of you as they resolve the issue.

The Outrage 550 has a lot going for it. Customer service that is awesome and down to earth, the heli is affordable, it flies excellent and the CNC machining is top notch. I honestly don't see how you could go wrong owning a Outrage 550.

Scotty T,

I see all of your votes are negative. Do you own a 550? If so please tell your experience with your 550 and the reason why it has all negative flight characteristics?

As if there is something not right I will do what i can to help you out possibly setups or equipment used?

I think he was bored and decided to vote for the heck of voting. He doesn't own a kit according to this recent post.

Scotty T and I pm'd each other it was a mistake on his part and he asked me to remove his votes so I did
It was a simple mistake of reading to fast

It is all good now! No harm no foul. So……. back to our regularly scheduled program :thumbup

Mine is very very unstable. Mainly, well totally b/c mine is still in my imagination which rests in my unstable mind heeh!

Charley, from what I hear, you have outdone yourself. A true beast from tracking straight to crazy flip and roll rates, plus superb quality. I just got paid, it's friday night. got money in my pocket
(Heli, Charely is right) Charley is right. Name that tune-slightly modified lyrics hehe!

Ok I'm excited forgive me!!!!

FINALLY, got to fly today. I set it up intermediate on the head and it was just right for me. Maybe just a little fast.
Only problem was I thermaled the ESC at the 5:30 mark (one too many 100% climb outs) and the hard landing broke the left side landing gear. I drilled a spare Vibe 50 set I had so I can burn more juice tomorrow. I wound up putting just under 4300ma back in my 5000 pack so Looks like 5 min flights till I get it all sorted. :bawl
I went ahead an installed a CC 110HV in place of the CC 85HV. My head speed is low too @ 1980 in the hover. I may get out of Gov mode soon. Got lots of oouuu and aahhhhs at the field too. :YeaBaby:

Nolan.... did you calibrate your ESC? http://www.helifreak.com/showpost.php?p=1061576&postcount=150

Yep, I re-calibrate the stick end points after EVERY change to the ESC via Castle Link. ;) Getting real good at it too, but it scares my friends when they see me plug it in at full stick.

My HV85 settings:

Settings; Helicopter
Throttle: Gov High
Init Spool-up: Medium (5)
Head Speed: Med (5)
Gov Gain: Med (14)
Brake: Disabled
Cutoff Volt: Auto Li-Po
Current Limiting: Insensitive
Cutoff Type: Soft
Motor Start Power: Med (59)
Motor Timing: Low (0)
Direction: Rev
PWM Rate: 12Khz
