The servo I had in mind was a S9650.
Cheers in advance ! :bomb:
The 401 with an S9650 has certainly been considered the hot ticket for the T-Rex tail for a while now. There are now a couple of new digitals out that are also good (I think JR makes one of them).

Yep... the JR 3400G is now the best tail servo for the Trex450... The king was the 9650 until this servo came out.

The only source of info I have is my pc.If not for your vids, I would have given up in despair. As it is, I've spent close to 6 K in the last couple months.I'm still a noob but I'm having a lot of fun. Thanks MR. Finless....todd

Your Welcome Todd!
Happy flying man :)
Bob
Even though I can download all of the low-quality build vids for free here, I would still prefer to have them systemized on a dvd in dvd-quality. :-)
Even if it costed me $20.
My internet here isnt cheap, so thats another strong factor for me to be interested in a helibuild-dvd.
Nice job on the vids btw.

Hmm I only was thinking of selling the thing for like $10.... I dont think my videos are that good to get even $19.95! I mean they certainly arent professional or anything..... $9 wont leave me much....
I will have to think about it but what do people think they are worth?
Oh and... I did not intend to turn this into a "help Bob make money" thread! It's not what I am about but if I can sell a few to those that dont have broadband or want DVDs, I am willing.... But I want it to be fair....
Bob
Cool I checked that out a litte bit but what I didnt see was what your % of the deal is on a sale? I will poke around that site a little more but they should have some details about pricing, mark up, and profit.
It is not a percentage they charge a flat rate. You charge whatever you want and they take like $8 per. i.e. you sell the DVD for $28 they give you $20 per 1 sold.

DVDs would be cool. It'd be kinda hard to get them on the shelves of a major store like Wal-Mart I'll bet, but hobby shops would probably love to fill their shelves with them. :glasses2:

My original masters are DVD quality. Maybe one day I will take a shot at making DVDs!
Put me down as currently interested in buying!

Bob, I have a couple of quiestions.
I am in the process of building my TREX450SE V2. I watched your viedo on installing the servos. In the video you installed the forward servos from inside of the frame, placing the tabs of the servo on the inside of the frame. In the manual for the V2 they show inserting the servos from the outside of the frame thus placing the servo tabs on the outside of the frame. My question is which is correct?
The control arms that came with my servos have very small holes and the subblied ball end connections will rewuire drilling out the holes in the servo arms. My second question is which hole should I drill out or how far from the center should the hole be for each of the servos?
By the way thanks for the videos I could not have gotten this far with out them.
Regards
Wallace

It doesnt matter if they are mounted outside or inside. Depending on the servos and arms used the idea is to get a straight a shot as possible of the links to the swash plate. In my video I used HS56 servos and having them inside worked best. Other servo may be different like the HS65MG servos.

Bob, you heli freakin' rock! Your videos are amazingly precise and clear. Taking a very complex set of info, and turning them into clear step by steps. That is not an easy thing to do!
Your build videos have helped me really enjoy this hobby, and I still look through them for review often. I can truly say that without your videos, I probably would have gotten frustrated with the hobby and gave up... not only because of the headaches of the build, but badly tuned machine would have slowed down my learning curve, and combined that with the repair costs, I'm pretty certain that I would have given up a long time ago.
You always say at the end of the videos "I hoped that this was helpful to you & enjoy". Well let me just say this to you "yes it was more so than you can ever imagine & thank you!"

Hello Bob :noteworthy Just wanna thank you for the videos you been making, they were realy helpful, thank you so much man
Ok, I'll add my 2 cents. Finless, you have been a Godsend to the uniniated. Why RR didn't pick up on this is beyond me. Coming from a web support enviro, your going to be busy. Wish I was too. Unemployed and forward thinking. Best to you.

Bob ,,, I really don't know what to say but I've downloaded the tutorial videos and they r really a great help to me .. actually without them especially the CCPM 1 and CCPM 2 videos I wouldn't have been able to understand how to program my 1st computerized TX which is the Futaba 6EX 2.4 GHz
Thanks a lot ... I've learned a lot from u .. u r really a kind and smart person
I really need ur advice with this defect I encountered when I was building my T-REX 450 S CF
the fly bar control arms are defected I suppose because there is a lateral sloppiness of about 2 mm around the main shaft when u move the fly bar control arms ... should I force the arms to the inside (main shaft) to make this lateral play near zero and I'm afraid the plastic control arms could fail and break ???
shoud I buy the metal fly bar control arms .. do they fit in here ???
what shoud I do ???
one more thing .. should I CA the motor pinion to the shaft or use epoxy ??
Could u please list the factory defects of the this kit and what we should do or replace to correct thes fatal defects like the swash fix ... what else should we take care of ???
Thank u I'm looking forward to ur reply
Any help is greatly appreciated

A nice guy in one of the forums maybe here has posted a very helpful PDF file that has the fine tuned linkage rod lengths of all type of the T-REXs when u print it to scale u can just adjust ur linkage rods accordingly ... it was really helpful and helped me a lot ... but the problem is that most of these linkage rods are not fully threaded inside their plastic ball cage .... they seem very weak..
shall I use some thread lock or CA or Epoxy on the threads ,,, or there are upgraded linkage rod set that are a bit longer so they will be fully threaded inside their plastic ball cage and if yes where can I get one ??
any help is greatly appreciated ....Thank u

Hey Bob,
Do you want to know how good you are? I bought a used Trex XL CDE from Ebay. This thing was USED and after looking it over and listening to your videos, I fixed a few things and set up the head according to your videos. First flight.... hands off, with not a single click of trim! I could not believe it. This is my second heli, the first being an old Century Hawk 3. Your videos helped a lot with it too. Thanks a bunch. Hopefully I will be able to give back the way you have some day.
